Yeah, sorry about the alternator - there were no signs it was going to fail, honest - your text the day after sale was a bit embarrassing. Not a terrible list of faults overall apart from the alternator - glad there was nothing else too mission critical.
Nice that you’ll continue the story!

Still missing it? Ive been speaking to Alex he’s been going through what he had done to it and made me an offer on it to buy it back as well.
Alex had also contacted me before I sold (and constantly while I owned it!) but he was a couple of grand off what I wanted for it.
Vossens : as far as I can work out Alex fitted them while he had it and sold the OEM 5 spoke wheels with TPMS fitted, then removed the Vossens before advertising the car - he then bought and refurbed another correct OEM set that are now on the car but they didn't come with TPMS.
One big regret - I didn't video the noise! It's one of those cars that you genuinely can't believe you own, if that makes sense. Not the most expensive, not the fastest, but just an amazing car that would always make you smile - even stuck in traffic. With unlimited funds and more undercover space it would still be right here.

Looking good! ATF had been done before I had it but I was thinking about doing it, honest.

I do like those wheels it had one but it looks better on the OEM ones, modified CLS's soon look a bit naff, not that it did, its just on very safe ground with original AMG ones.

Really lifts it being such an uncommon colour as well, mine was silver, as were 99,998 percent of them.
I did actually go to view a silver CLS 55 with red leather in Manchester, about half hour from Andy but it had been bumped on the front and repaired badly. Id seen this one on ebay and had to view it to put my mind at ease, as soon as we pulled up i was not leaving without it. Bought it, 50+ invoices later and here we are an about as immaculate CLS 55 AMG as you can get without being a museum piece.
I'll have to disagree with you there.

When I floored it up that hill in 2nd gear with the V8 noise bouncing off the stone walls either side of the road leaving your dad's car about half a mile behind - that's when you weren't leaving without it biggrin

Honestly, it's epic. The noise gives you goosebumps. Colour scheme is very special too. The pull, the lowdown power is unreal.
Wheels - they are OEM and correct spec but not the original set as they were sold on when the Vossens were fitted then another set bought to replace them - hence TPMS not working when I had it.
One regret - I never recorded the noise!

Great first post! I think I agree the era around the '55 and 6.2 are probably AMG's high point.
C'mon, pics!

Looks very clean. Agree with under-the-radar, they're just a much more classy shape compared to the newer stuff. Yours has 18" wheels, crazy that the maximum factory size on these was 19" - all the current AMG-effect tat is "rollin' on 20s" at least hehe
