It was finally time for our pilgrimage to Wales to meet Rover Gandalf. This could not have come sooner, considering the LH wishbone bush had worn itself to a mere shoelace (most likely a knock on effect from the continued bearing issue).
We arrived in great unison:
The bush was now completely gone, but there was no better place for some serious TLC. Gandalf took the wheel while we went to discover the wonders of Colwyn Bay, it’s people and more-than-usual alcoholic brews:
While ramped, repairs took place for the broken bush as well as both front wheel bearings to finally set this lingering issue to rest.
The electronic unlock on driver side door had also stopped working. Driver’s door handle/solenoid was replaced to fix this and allow for maximum satisfaction.
Final job was to flush the heater matrix and restore optimal conditions to the cockpit, surprising amount of gloop was removed! It was interesting that this stuff would pool to the left of the matrix, which meant that the far right of the dashboard would still generate a small amount of warmth.
While I relax next to the fire during the final touches, I had to acknowledge an appreciation for the serene forest and gentle surroundings of Rover heaven.
As a quiet slice of the northern Welsh coast, this natural and unspoiled town left me rejuvenated and free. Until next time, Colwyn Bay, it’s been great.
