Thanks once again for your time on Friday it is greatly appreciated
Good to meet another E46 owner. Re my car it now has tinted rear glass as per the BMW factory option. I bought a pair of rear doors for £20 to use for the shadowline trims. They came with the factory sun protection glass. I fitted this and used film for the rest of the glass. I couldn’t manage the tailgate so paid for that to be tinted.
I have also removed all the egr as it wasn’t working well with the engine’s state of tune. New remap will be booked when I have time.
Time for a new rear tyre today. The n/s/r Goodyear Eagle F1 was down to 2mm after 8k miles. I think that’s the fastest tyre wear since I had a Fiat Uno Turbo, which used to wear front tyres out in 10k.
I couldn’t find a replacement F1 so have gone for a Continental Premium Contact 6. I’ve had these on this car before and they work well. Pics:

I broke the bank the other day:
The original airbag sticker was peeling, probably from a screen replacement. I decided I’d put a braided clutch line on, as the rest of transmission is all lovely.
I’ve had the car mapped back to previous levels with the 6 speed now. The new map has no egr as I’ve removed it, the DDE has been reprogrammed for cruise to work in 6th. New power is 261 bhp, I think the torque is 607Nm, just waiting for the e mail of the chart.
All the old transmission has now been sold including my second 6 speed diff.

It does the job! It’s speciality is long uphills.
My current daily has 330nm and does me just fine as I am trying to keep my license squeaky as I drive professionally. My Passat became a project being converted to 4x4. Imagine the same torque from a 1.9 TDI VW engine with a head-sized turbo, it's a little rowdy at best. Hence the 4x4 conversion. Only 240bhp but the 445f/lb makes torque steer dangerous, especially on 16" winter tyres. Sink the shoe in 1st, 2nd or 3rd and you just get spin despite the protestations of the ESP system. Picked up a full retrofit kit last year hopefully should give me some hope.mercedeslimos said:

The only reason is I bought two rear doors for £20 to use the shadowline trims. They had the factory tinted glass. So I fitted it and did the rest with film. I’ve kept the original windows safely.
Rear passengers are happy and the boot is more private. The car now has ceramic pads all round so the wheels don’t get covered in brake dust after every journey.
