Excuse the legs... had the wheel re-trimmed in alcantara which I think suits the interior and feels great.

I've never seen a red one in the wild I don't think. I went with the estoril blue as I adore that colour and feel like every one I see is either that or white now.

Whats the front lip ?

It's an M-Performance splitter wrapped in carbon fibre. I'd not seen too many red ones either, until my neighbour got a 420d in red!

That looks lovely. The car in really goes well with the red.

Did you get the wheel done at Royal? They did the one in my 140 and did a great job...trouble is I want more alcantara inside now.

Yes it was Royal Steering Wheels. Really pleased with it and goes well with the alcantara around the gearstick.

That's smart, please keep updating this thread. My wife has a 435i GC and i've been looking to see what options exist in terms of carbon splitters at the front & back.

May I ask, where have you sourced the carbon trim items? Mutually, we've found the sat nav needs an update and that's relatively simple, however, is there a way to update the whole iDrive?

Thanks.

Do you mean interior or exterior carbon?

I’ve not looked into updating the iDrive, what have you found available worth doing?

More a tenuous link, with it being Germany.

Bit of a thread resurrection, the car looks pretty much the same but I cracked an alloy so used it as an excuse to change the wheels to 405m style.

Then I've been thinking about getting rid of it and I was very close to buying a C63s AMG but decided I really liked it, so it's getting some TLC and I'll keep it a while longer. Someone keyed it recently and there's some stone chips to the bonnet and some scuffs to the bumper where a foreign HGV nearly took my back end off and didn't stop. The carbon bits are getting a bit tatty, especially the side skirts where I keep putting my heel on them getting out.

So it's getting all that sorted next week and I'm changing all the carbon bits to the same parts but in gloss black, then it's going in for a ceramic coating and full detail.

However, the fun bit is the intercooler/down pipe, air intake, charge pipe, new turbo, engine and gearbox map and the Eisenmann Race exhaust which I'm told should see it close to 470-480 bhp. That's all been ordered so excited about that.

So I'm spending 5k on it in the hope it feels like a new car.

I'd just like opinions on wheels;

I think these would look good?

They look nice enough, but I'd struggle to see past the APEX Race Parts range. Probably EC7s in a staggered 18x9 or 19.8.5 front, 18 or 19x9.5 rear, or SM10s in 18x9 all round.

The CMs are worryingly cheap for a 19" wheel of decent quality IMO, which suggests they're probably cast and heavy as hell.

Do like Apex wheels. ARC-8 also work well IMO

I was behind a lovely Alpina B4 earlier.

Not sure if they'd suit it or not.

The performance upgrades certainly sound like fun, bet you're eager for the postman to arrive!!!!!

Those Alpina wheels are rather lovely but look like they are at least 20". I do like the style, which hasn't really changed since the E30 era cars but those look a bit too large. When it comes to alloys i'm such a wheel snob & a set of BBS LM split rim or 1 piece RG/RT in 18 or 19 8.5"/9" staggered for looks or 8.5" square ,ooo decisions.

id be temped to try subtle gold centres

I'd completely understand if you were against LMs because of the popularity of them ( including many many many fakes/knock offs), the CH-R is also a good looking wheel, the staggered rears with a concave face are a little bit CSL.

Enjoying this thread. It’s good to see a modern car being properly enjoyed and revitalised, instead of being cast aside for something ‘better’.

Despite being so popular the F3X doesn’t get boring if it’s specced right.

CH-Rs are a great wheel but they're big money for non-forged and you can do lighter in a very similar style for less.

A lot of the price for them is "BBS" branding to be honest, but that said they come with +++ scene points.

-EDIT

Actually cheaper than I remember them being, circa £1,600 for a set in 19x9.5 which is about the same as APEX.
