CH-Rs are a great wheel but they're big money for non-forged and you can do lighter in a very similar style for less.

A lot of the price for them is "BBS" branding to be honest, but that said they come with +++ scene points.

-EDIT

Actually cheaper than I remember them being, circa £1,600 for a set in 19x9.5 which is about the same as APEX.
I’m a big fan of CH-R’s but you’re right they’re a lot of money. I believe that BBS have just gone bankrupt again.

I can't agree with that, you're getting technology/development/manufacturing processes/quality which are designed/tested for Motorsport & to exceed industry test standards. In the world of alloy wheels BBS (plus Rays in Japan )are the leaders, id expect there to be many companies queuing up to use BBS flow casting equipment let alone dream of using their forging equipment. You may not realise just how many oem wheels are made by BBS but don't always come with obvious branding. As for the price, you pay more but they retain their value incredibly well which helps balance that out.

i'm not knocking all other wheels, those ARC wheels that have been mentioned look dam smart!!!

This is certainly the case with some BBS wheels but has not been so with much of their mainstream range for quite some time. They're not really better made than competing wheels from other big-name providers who sell cheaper, and the likes of Enkei produce lighter wheels of equivalent or better quality for about the same price.

I've been a huge fan of BBS over the years and still am, but their triumph has primarily been brand recognition and marketing. Almost anyone whose remotely petrolheady knows the name and logo. I will never knock people for buying BBS wheels because they're great all round road wheels but they definitely don't offer the best performance or quality at their price point.

I'm fully aware smile

Royal Steering Wheels, their service was excellent and would definitely recommend them.

In terms of what I've bought;

Wagner Intercooler
Wagner Catless Downpipe
Pure Turbos Stage 2 Turbo
Eisenmann resonated centre pipe
Eisenmann Race backbox 90mm tips
FTP boost pipe
FTP charge pipe
FTP intake
FTP air pipes
FTP intake scoops
BMC Air Filter

My brother will be doing the work as he's a BMW technician. No decision yet on the wheels but the gloss black M Performance parts have arrived and I dropped it off earlier for it's paintwork to be sorted.

Edit: then a remap and I'll get rid of the JB4 that's already on it.

Another vote for Royal. They did my wheel too.

Love the look of those wheels. I’ve seen some before that make the wheel look a little too chunky. Do Royal Wheels remove the old trim before applying the new stuff?

I can't answer that as they send the new wheel out, you swap it over and send yours back to them.

It's not too chunky though. Really is very nice.

All exterior carbon is now gloss black and it looks much better IMO, especially now I've had the paintwork sorted so there's no stone chips, scratches etc. It looks almost brand new. I'll get pictures up for anyone interested over the weekend/early next week.

Few more bits left to arrive engine wise and it'll all be done together. I've ordered some decent EBC brake discs/pads as they needed replacing anyway and I'm sick of the M Performance brake squeal which seems to be common.

I know which wheels I want to put on now... but unsure as to colour; I'd appreciate any opinions?

I've had good experiences with CM Wheels in the past. I'm leaning towards Hyper Silver.

(Has to be one of the above as I've ordered and paid and both colours are due in next week, just need to choose)

I like the darker of the two wheels if I’m honest.

This will be a beast when finished.

Hyper silver no question.

This lot is impressive, has he fitted it yet? If bit, tell him to get on with it, can't wait to see the results!!!

I'm with you on the Hyper Silver I think.

Still waiting on everything arriving, missed UPS on Friday, they'll try again Monday, so I'm hoping it was everything else except the exhaust which will be another 4 weeks, custom built in Germany apparently.

Not the best pictures, sent to me by my brother who has been putting the gloss black bits on for me.

Meanwhile, I've had this on extended test drive;

I'd never get tired of being massaged along the motorway, I think they'll make a nice combo.

Look's really good, what brake discs did you go for and are you lowered?

Embarrassingly I'm not sure what the discs are, other than they're EBC with Yellow Stuff pads. I'll have to check the box.

https://shop.ac-schnitzer.co.uk/suspension-springs...

It's lowered using ACS Springs. Coilovers are on their way.

I'd be interested in the springs if you were planning to sell, my 430D M Sport seems pretty high!

A quick check indicates the SKU code is the same, so they should fit okay.
