Ditto!I had a SILVER 131 Sport and an orange 131 Racing in my earlier years.... had to sell the latter when I bought my 1st place and replaced it with a 132 Auto that cost me £400, and which was still a great car compared to the st my mates were driving (1989, aged 19).
Lovely.
Early 90's, my cousin had a light blue 4 door 131 (Supermirafiori i think it was called) with the big single square headlights (reg XVF 1X). There was also a silver 2 door sport with the 4 round headlights going around Great Yarmouth that he lusted after. My best memory was chasing him through one of the nearby villages in my Fiesta Supersport, my co-pilot counting up my speedo 80, 81, 82 and him pulling away off into the distance (no wonder yours flies!). Good times...
Is yours supercharged or was that a model called the Volumetrico or something? Bookmarked and eager to hear more!

1976, 1 of 400 stradale homologation specials built to enable the 131 Abarth to compete in the WRC. The 131 Abarth won the WRC manufacturers title three times in 1977, '78 & '80 and won the drivers championship with Markku Alen in '78 and Walter Rohrl in '80.
The car is not 100% standard, it has cams, LSD, stiffer springs, rally handbrake, recaro seats, larger carbs and produces about 180 bhp and weighs c. 850 kg. Let's just say it goes pretty well!!
A lot of the bodywork is fibreglass. The bonnet, wings, boot lid and spoiler for example.
Here's a great video of what one is like to drive, they sound utterly incredible for such a small engine.
