I rang the OP about this car when it was for sale. I'm near Leeds and I wanted the car but missed it by possibly a few hours. He said he'd taken a deposit but would keep me in mind if things fell through. I've since moved on to two vxr8s but this would have been an ideal family car with menacing stance. Looks fantastic and I'd buy it any day. Colour is great, stance is excellent and power sound more than adequate. All the best with it OP.. Cheers Zak

I never thought I'd see wheels even more horrible than East LA gang-banger "spinners". But now I have.

My old man has a 97 run out 940 Celebration, literally been round the world as was owned by my Uncle who was in the RAF and based in the Falkland Iles, car went with them!

Now covers less than 1000 miles a year

2.3 Turbo, done the head gasket on it and it has a new exhaust every year but still trundles along

Didn’t realise they had a following!

Hi Jim wavey

You bought my old 850R, I nearly did the same thing with it after you'd sorted out the bits it needed!

My dad who's a serial Volvo-ist, tools about in a '94 940 that has an MBC and upgraded intercooler. I keep looking at the last of the run V90's and am wondering how to sneak one past the boss. Yours looks lovely, but personally think it would look awesome on a set of Perfo's

Alright rich, that was another one I regret selling! Was absolutely mint in the end!

That's what I mean, look at it! Was seriously tempted to buy it back off you but it sold pretty quick. I bought a Discovery 3 in the end.

Had a few issues with a misfire on the 940, happening under load in fourth and fifth gears. Changed the plugs, no hot, fuel filter, still the same but then decided to change the dizzy cap, leads and rotor arm and she’s running like a champ again. The AFR has decided to break now but there’s always something.

There's an absolutely spectacular amount of glazing in that car - visibility must be incredible!
Or - hot as a greenhouse if the AC's not working in summer laugh

Awesome car though smokin

Where did you get your steels from, or did you band them yourself?

I've recently bought a V50 and want to make it a little less "Grandad" ears

Sorry for the slight thread hijack (nice 940 by the way!) - it's easy to de-grandad them; this is my C30 T5 (from the B-pillar forward, the same as a V50 mechanically):

Cosmetically, all I've done is tint the rear windows, have the wheels powdercoated gunmetal grey, a carbon fibre front grille, a splitter and some halos in the headlights.

Thanks mate! Yours looks ace, love the inspiration. Where did you pick up your grille?

I was thinking of fitting the R Design spoiler, change wheels (maybe spacers, too), possibly lower a little and now a new grille that I've seen yours haha, but that's a whole new thread biggrin

Yep sorry for thread hijack, we'll get back on track now smile

No worries! Mine was an R-Design from the factory, I really like the kit they come with. I got the grille from a member of the C30 Crew UK page on Facebook - V50s need a different shaped grille but I think you can pick them up on eBay. I'd recommend joining the VolvoTuning.net page on Facebook and having a look around for further inspiration, quite a few people have modified their V50s.

Ah, I forgot - there are also 20mm spacers on my rear wheels and 30mm Eibach lowering springs all round smile there's a lot you can do - if yours is a T5 too then look for Focus ST225 parts; they all fit as it's a Volvo lump wink
