Good stuff Edmond.

I'll be in Glasgow for a week at the back end of July, in the West End. Happy to grab a beer.

Brill, so glad it's almost sorted! I had a 2003 e320 diesel for a couple years and the fear of the SBC led me to get rid of it...I was young graduate who had no money. Wish I kept hold as it was a great car - I enjoyed fettling it!

The SBC has transpired to be far more insiduous than internet infamy would have one believe, just look at how many brake discs and pads it has chewed its way through before reporting an error, not to mention the time and further excuses for titivation and inconvenience it has taken.

I dropped some paint off today, for the repacement PDC sensor -- there's obsidian black and lacquer in canosters and touch up brushes, so they have a choice. He reckons that it'll be ready this week!

Looks like you will be reunited with your E500 before me. Radio silence from my Indy. It’s never good news when that happens……

Fantastic news. Hopefully this means many more miles of good service.

yikes

Have you just jinxed me? I haven't had a good run of form in this car for a while now (though it's always a case of being forgiven and smitten after one long drive)!

How many cars in your household?

Additionally, remind me of the latest issue? The brake issue has been resolved... is it a gearbox fault?

Let's hope not. I've had a run of reasonable fortune of late, so let's hope it rubs off...

I popped in to the Mercedes rehabilitation facility on Thursday to be told that, after four new discs and pads, the car was ready for test driving. He said that it would be a gentle test drive whilst he feathered the brakes in. I told him to keep it until he could do a fast run and try the brakes properly. Word.

Let's hope it's all good and worth the wait. Bet you just want it back now!!
