Wow, that looks good. Who's the detailer again and which service is this? I think I now know where to go for my cars!
I didn’t have to stay in Bicester by design, however, I couldn’t attend the April Scramble due to an business trip and had prepaid the room on a saver booking. Thankfully, Premier Inn allow for the booking to be shifted.

I might be alone in this, but I'd love to hear more about the i3. I still don't really understand how the range extender version works, but I really fancy one.
Here's my thread on the i3.You too, Ayman. There’s time to clean it en route… Aylesbury Car Wash opens at 8am!
In my bid to be Mercedes man, I’ve sourced a roof bar bag, too.
This is one of those items (I’m looking at at you, MB bike racks and MB fridge) that seems to be very highly priced on ebay; however, patience pays and eventually a rare occurrence… an honest punter advertises it at a reasonable price.
It’s made of very thick material, velcro on the sides to make it easy to fold away and an external pocket for the key to the roof rack locks.
So my lifestyle kit extends to MB winter alloys with tyres, MB roof rack, MB roof box, 4x MB bike racks an official period brochure and accessories brochure. I now need a mullet, get rid of my goatee and retain the dodgy ‘tache, wear thin merino wool v neck showing my heavage and boil my sausages for breakfast. And a fridge, but for less than £100.

Good recommendation, it looks pretty good for a 25 minute clean.Have a browse through the thread for the crankshaft position sensor. You can replace it easily with a loooooong extension, just ensure that the engine is cold!
Thank you Ken, Spinakerr and EdmondDantes. It was a pleasure to meet the latter of you two, sorry we didn’t spend more time chatting ED, hopefully we’ll have another chance to meet up, perhaps in Glasgow. Top effort to you and your brother for the drive down and back up. You defo need an E500 estate for that journey!

Nice! Seven seats, semi aniline leather, vented/dynamic front seats and a wood leather steering wheel!
Any photos of the interior and is the stowage box still present?

Ooh, good point. Unless someone geeks me out and posts, I'll have to check the original brochure...
I believe its Nappa at least on the face of the seats. I need to know if it was an option independent of having cooled seats. Thank you WMAC for the kind words and to J.Wood for the helpful guidance. Interesting that the rears don’t affect the (full) airmatic functionality.
Before WMAC goes the whole hog, there is also a potentially easy fix that I tried, but ultimately didn’t work for me. The metal flange output from the reservoir for each rear air spring can corrode. The consequence is that air can seep between that and the enveloping rubber hose that feeds the spring. This leads to a gradual sinking, particularly noticeable when left unused and also overworks the compressor, so can escalate in associated failures and ultimately, cost and time.
A resolution is to rub down the corroded surface, apply a quick hardening metal paste, with a smooth finish, to replace the perished surface and re-attach and secure the hose.
Mine worked then failed spectacularly; I couldn’t be bothered doing a quick fix again with the far-away indy and so opted to replace them both with new OEM.

They await new stock via used items, as Stegel alluded to above. Recently, I couldn’t find any reconditioned front springs so had to opt for a new one for the nsf.
The MB rear units (the bellows and the attached aluminium reservoir) are identical to, and presumably manufactured in the same plant as, the Bilstein units. I purchased two MB exchange units in 2021; through stupidity and enthusiasm I damaged one unit before the car even saw the road, and bought a Bilstein unit from Autodoc to replace it (yes, I lowered the subframe twice). MB could not take back the damaged unit without having a new unit purchased, which I thought rather wasteful, especially if they are short of refurbishment stock. I wonder whether there is an aftermarket for reconditioning, someone must buy these for repair and sell reconditioned ones on ebay.
