The joys of owning these types of cars sadly.

The guy who did the work has suggested I disconnect the battery for half an hour as he had a maintainer on it. Going to give that a try when I get home. Gonna see what the charge rate is before I do that as well.

Well, I got home, checked the voltage on the battery before starting the car. Just under 12v. Started up, same voltage and then a minute later charging at around 14v, which I think is expected behaviour. No more errors either!

Been out in the car and it has been fine.

OP, hope you enjoy a spell of trouble free motoring.

Even without fuel, tax and insurance, the E60 M5 experience does sound seriously damaging to the wallet...

And a new condenser ordered too! (That’s what normally goes on the E60).

Condenser is fine. I know why the air con isn't working.

What is the cause of the a/c n/w?

The guy doing the work had to extract the gas as there was a pipe in the way of him getting at the one that burst. He didn't have any gas to replenish unfortunately.

This was supposed to be an update saying that I had nice cold air con in the car, but unfortunately not. When the guy did the work, he had to disconnect some pipes. Well it looks like he forgot to bolt the high pressure line back into the pump as the pipe isn't connected so the AC place couldn't regas it. Booked in with them for Tuesday to have it reconneted as it is a special bolt and he needs to order one in. I have no issue spending money on the car, but it does piss me off spending money when it is unnecessary, and this bolt should have been refitted. To say I'm a bit annoyed would be correct.

Just ordered the bolt from BMW with the washer. Ordered two just in case. Obviously can't get the AC regassed today but at least I will have the bolts for Tuesday.

Keep at it, you must be getting very close to stress and maintenance free motoring for a bit.

With a V10.

The cars a long termer. I love finding excuses to drive it. Love the sound of the V10. It gets what it needs. No scrimping on this car.

Sounds familiar. I've just collected my 650i from BMW having its valve stem seals replaced. So they had the engine apart, put it all back together, but forgot the put the air con belt back on. Oh, thanks! So no air-con in the hottest continuous period we've had in ages. Got it sorted somewhere else a few days later, but more money and aggro, that like you, isn't necessary.
