The car is at the garage today. Hopefully they will find the leak.

Report from the garage is that they think it is the Pas pump leaking. When the rod bearings got done the Pas pump was removed. So it would appear to be related. I need the car this weekend so I will keep an eye on the Pas fluid level and get it rebooked in to have the leak sorted and new drive belts fitted.

Might need a pump / lines, so major enough for something I shouldn't need to be paying for.

I have enjoyed reading your thread as I am looking to buy one of these at the moment when a decent one finally comes up for sale. Who did your rod bearings? And if you dont mind what was the cost? I am afraid imo it seems that they should be stumping up for these repairs as the problems were caused when they worked on the car. I hope all works out for you. All the best.

Buy on condition. My car despite its issues was a good car to start with. The issues have all happened since I had the work done.

Re the bearings, I can only advise that you get them done by someone you have confidence in.

Glad its only the PAS leaking, at least you can drive it until it gets fixed.

I see a few people reading this looking for a mint E60 M5, the guy I sold mine to has just traded it into SJ Specialist cars in Wigan who have put it up on PH today. It probably is one of the best examples in the country.

Cheers.

Took it out yesterday for a run to Clacton. Other than the M25 I enjoyed it all. So good to be able to use it and not be worrying too much. The sound of that V10 isn't getting boring yet.

I know that at some point I will get a new car, but given the run I had yesterday, I really don't know if it is genuinely worth getting anything faster. It's a tough call.

In the meantime, I've ordered a few bits for it. New black kidney grills and some yellow air scoops to direct air to the filters. I'm going to buy a pair of LCI rear lights now that I have some adapters for them. I'm going to leave the front lights as they are as they're active lights and LCI versions of these are mega expensive.

A few changes planned for it in the coming months.

LCI rear lights
New ///M5 badge
Black grills
Lowering (25mm up front and 15mm at the rear)
Yellow ram air scoops to sit behind the kidney grills
Some colour for under the bonnet (yellow?)
Change colour of wheels

That's a bit mental, isn't it?
"I'd love to use one of the stock shift modes in my car, but don't want to kill the clutch..."

The clutch has done 78k miles, I'd like it to last a little bit longer seeing as how its pretty much £2k to change it..

Replaced the passenger side windscreen washer jet today as it wasn't working right. So nice to be able to clean all of the windscreen properly now.
