Good article in Autosport on Bill and the C30:
The C30 is currently in for a quick reprep following its performance at Horsepower Hill / Heveningham Hall the other weekend. Needless to say the track surface wasn't exactly ideal for an F1 but it gave a good account of itself, as did the pilot for keeping it mostly on the concrete surface with only a small amount of grass cutting. It definitely won the longest number 11s contest

What's absolutely amazing about this package is quite how reliable they are, you can do things like this without risking a 30K engine bill at the end of it. Reprep this time around is basically a good clean and a hoover out of the rad ducts. The motor never got above 90 degrees water temp despite a lot of sitting around idling followed by big throttle and it's pretty clear to see from the rear launch video we definitely haven't lost any of the rigidity in the car vs it's original power train! It's so good to be able to do events like this with a modern car as the opportunity to bring an F1 out to play is usually so difficult and expensive we just can't do things like this - wonderful to be able to and let people get up close and personal with one
Needless to say it got a huge amount of attention, crazy really when you consider the company it was in and how little you can buy one for vs the hypercars around it!

How much are you talking about?....
There aren't any other C30s that will ever be in private ownership so it's one of one and there isn't really anything you can privately own that is quicker. Compared to a Veyron, F40, McLaren Senna etc. it's pretty cheap.How much are you talking about?....

Well what a weekend. Firstly sorry Foggy for missing your message!
Silverstone Classic was the first run of the HF1-018 with our latest tweeks completed. This was mainly aero balance work, next up is a bit of engine development so we can turn the boost up further with the next stages of dev coming thick and fast over the coming weeks. As always the car ran faultlessly and the weather was incredible all weekend!
We had the absolute pleasure of having Oli Webb driving the car on Friday and Jess Hawkins on the Saturday. Both did an amazing job and loved the car, even running medium boost the car was more than capable of going past everything out there and sticking with the V12 Ferrari monster down the straights - just goes to show how much aero efficiency improved over 20 years when a 250bhp advantage isn't enough to pull away
The cars incredibly stable on circuit and access to the Pirelli tyre is really helping us pull big cornering G!
Love the heat haze in this shot. Track temp wasn't far off the levels we had at BGP!
The JPS livery works so well! We are really over the moon with how well it turned out.
May need a touch more anti-dive....
The fact that it looks like this, goes like it does and yet can go from truck to circuit in less than 30 minutes is an incredible achievement by all involved!
This car continues to absolutely blow me away with how fast it is and the next stages of development are only going to improve that. Expect some 4 post ring and wind tunnel photos shortly

Well development is pushing on and we are nearing a very decent package with the HF1-018, as what is essentially the development car which several more will be based on we are on a pretty serious development path with all aspects of the car under revision. As always building something is only the start of the work.
Earlier this week we popped to see our pals at Multimatic and carried out some further suspension development with the aim of working the rears a little harder and seeing just how good our Pirelli option was:
The upgrades to the rig made earlier this year have resulted in an even more amazing setup and I'm very happy to report the coffee machine is still spot on
43 runs later we had a new setup for low downforce and a new setup for high downforce along with some new hot TPs to try.
TDF / Heritage development driver Jess Hawkins fired some laps in this afternoon and we've found over a second around our very short test circuit so rig time well spent!
Next up is to optimise the gear ratios we are running and add some DRS to proceedings!

It does indeed, HF1-018 is the first of five modern era F1 cars that will be built to a similar spec and made available for competition use or simply as the fastest track day car in the world. andburg said:

Following our time at Multimatic last week we're pushing on with track testing and want to do some investigation into what the floor is doing and the heave motion of the car.
Hence lasers:
Which accurately measure the ride height of the vehicle along the centre line whilst the cars in motion. This gives us a live measure of how much ride height loss we have in the car from aero load and coupled with push rod load cells a decent idea of the aero performance of the front and rear wings.
It also doesn't get much cooler than your racing car shining 25mm wide laser lines on the floor from its underbelly

We have a pretty busy development schedule over the coming weeks with new upgrades for IC and air intake coming through. The aim is to set some lap records before the weather turns

Quick question re intercoolers, which brand of core are you using / will oh be using? What are the best of the best? You hear all about Garrett being good but are there any better ones? I hear the Audi guys use Marton (I think) cores.
We have a stash of older Secan cores and have previously used HS Marston (although they've just pulled the plug on their motorsport/automotive department to focus on aerospace). We're evaluating some options at the moment but the Garrett cores we've used on some other applications have been good, in fact very good for the money but they are heavy! As we generally have good airflow being side pod mounted we don't need the extra thermal mass Quick question re intercoolers, which brand of core are you using / will oh be using? What are the best of the best? You hear all about Garrett being good but are there any better ones? I hear the Audi guys use Marton (I think) cores.
