Sold, in 3 days, to the first person to look at it, for asking price.

I reckon I could have sold it at least 5 times over, I had 5 people wanting to view it this weekend plus more people asking about it including the Trader I bought the Maserati from.

Did the buyer know about your thread here? I'm sure seeing what you did to it would have reassured any prospective owner.

Be nice to see the engine internals before being a high millage car.

So what's next? I've got a Gtv you can do your magic on if bored smile

I did indeed see this thread beforehand and it did help with mileage piece of mind! Lovely car - you’d never be able to guess that mileage just on condition. Cheers smile

Random milestone today while on holiday in Cornwall. Doing well - credit to the previous owner(s). Loving the engine too, torque like a diesel and non smellyness like petrol. Nice.

Spoke a bit too soon! Rear window passenger side got stuck down, I managed to slide it up and now the mechanism sounds like it’s doing something, but unlikely it’s back to normal! Will look more later when not at the lost gardens of heligan. I know the window regulators on these seem dodgy.

Ha ha I don’t think so it’s been up and down plenty already. This time is seems to have come off the runner or something. Mechanism still going up and down but doesn’t seem healthy. Guy we’re renting the holiday place off was recently fixing a Mito so I’ll ask if I can borrow some tools later and pull apart the door, see if I can relocate it. 4hrs of motorway home will need some gaffa tape otherwise! I can slide it up and down manually but it slips back down

That's the primary reason why people rate that engine, low dow diesel like torque but it bulls well up to the red line.

Did you spot this? Makes yours look silly cheap....

Sorry to hear that.

I've got a window regulator mechanism for the front drivers door but I never thought to get one for the rear as I rarely opened the rear windows.

They're well know for failing though.

Agree wholeheartedly about the TBI. That’s why both my Alfas have this engine.

On the price of TBIs. I bought my Brera just over 2 years ago at 126k for £4500. When you see most Brera TBIs are still below 100k and between 2-4 times the price I feel very very lucky to have what I’ve got.

I haven’t managed to pull apart the door yet, will be on that tomorrow. We got back from Cornwall today after a 3.5hr straight run to home. 700+ miles of motorway there and back and a lot of punting up and down little lanes still averaging 27 - pretty good!

Also popped in some new mats today which look better in black than the grey ones. Though I’ve kept those (except one rear one is missing) as they’re good quality.

Price of these - yes I think it’s good value, I’m happy.

Window proved to be a straightforward swap out of the regulator and frame (motor was fine). As you can see below the cable had snapped out. Likely I also broke the plastic clips holding the window when I pulled it up to tape it for the journey home. Still all good and for £25ish a nice cheap repair.

It did for some reason drain the battery around the time of repairing this (not sure why) and so it threw a Christmas tree of faults (well Air bag and EML anyway) but both have subsequently cleared so no worries there.

It's ticking very close to 223,000 miles now, won't be long!

I think mine has the same problem (156) the near side rear has failed and I had to move the glass up to shut it.
How much was the part? I wouldn't be surprised if mine is the same.
