If it helps ease the financial pain, we went through a similar issue with my Mum's Brera last year. It might be a 2007 car but it's only done 50k miles. After we replaced the front subframe with a brand new one from Alfa, it needed a rear subframe, and rear arms which were a pita to source. My Dad ended up ordering various parts from all over the place, spain, germany and italy. Of course Brexit eased the process of getting them here...
I’ve been lucky. My 143,000 mile 2010 Brera has had any subframe issues to date. I just wish I got the chance to use the car more than I do, it’s done just 1000 miles in the last year.

I used a magic eraser (you can buy them from discount chains - bargain whatever) and they take a shiny steering wheel back to factory look in about 20secs. All the grime and grease off the leather.

Not my wheel but mine came up the same (2014 V70 D5 with a very very gloss wheel)
