Adam, you are an arse!

You have put more effort into your exhaust than I have into my whole race car (E36 Compact seeing as you asked... or didn't).

Still really enjoying the updates, keep up the very solid work smokin
haha, i liked that.

It's all well and good putting lot's of effort into something, but when i eventually start it and if sounds like a duck whistle it will be a nice addition to the wall or some shiny bag pipes.

An E36 compact race car you say, a thread?

That exhaust, the dustpan and about a dozen other parts of this car should be put in an art gallery.

Amazing craftsmanship - I’m truly envious!
haha, by the sounds of it that dust pan needs to be put in a display box and you haven't even seen the broom holder yet laugh

Thanks for the kind words.

Excellent, not often I call someone an arse and they like it hehe

I am certain it will sound just fine when you start her up, given the thread interest you should probably hold an open day for that haha

No build thread for the car, well there was somewhere but it's long done. That said I am starting a new one this weekend, hmmm, food for thought!

I hope so, if its too loud i'll have to put another silencer somewhere.

I expect a full in depth picture heavy build thread, thanks. read

Just catching up with the thread, I think your standards are slipping Adam.

And I promise I'm not jealous as I can't fabricate anything!

Great to see pics of Dan's 320is. Many a happy day playing in that car. Often seen travelling to a show with my old grey turd in tow. so many good memories.

Managed to get a bit more time on the Compact, fitted the silencer. Hopefully the pictures will explain why i had to shorten it 600mm across the width (between the wheel tub and battery box) and 50mm off the length (between axle carrier and bumper) .

The two tubes that enter the silencer will have to be finished off once the the engine is in, i can then work out whats going on with the center section. V-band clamps will be joining the center section to the silencer and then a heat shield will be made to protect the rubber bushing in the axle carrier.

And that's pretty much what i imagined it would look like all those years ago.

I'm unsure what will be next up, still have a few bits to do..............

This made me laugh a lot. Imagining you starting it up and it sounds like a kazoo rofl

And another.

I used to be quite happy with the system on my E46 and then I saw this.

Dear god man.

If this build doesn't get you more business I feel as if we have failed you.

Ok fine, but I expect you to send me some stickers for the racecar and I want zero st for not having the eye for detail that you do hehe

Its this kind of level of fabrication that shows engineering as an fine art.

This build really is on a par with their products isn't it. Every time you think it can't get any better any update is posted.

That underneath picture of the exhaust fitted, really shows why you needed to do such a complex exhaust modification! Great problem solving skills there

Im curious what you'll do with the rear axle / diff. Can you put the M3 diff straight in the compacts diff housing, or does everything need to be swapped?
(I was at Birds auto this morning, and was marvelling at the quaife LSD they had on the front desk)

Outstanding craftsmanship.

I loved my 325ti - would buy another one tomorrow - I actually think they are nicely proportioned and good looking cars but I appreciate I am in the minority.

This is going to be something else when it's finished.

everything needs to be swapped, will be interesting to see what adam does as the compact has unique diff gearing that gives it that sporty feel to drive, wonder what an s54 and the compact diff will result in laugh

He is using the E46 M3 rear subframe/differential cradle. And, no the M3 differential cannot be fitted to an non-M3 differential cradle.
