Love the car OP...
I myself have just picked up an 05 Zetec-S 1.6 petrol, well looked after with only 62k miles, drives lovely and I'm chuffed with it.

I'd be interested to know how differently the Zetec-S drives to the Zetec.
The Zetec does seem just about spot on for normal driving.
Thanks mate.
The missus has a 1.4 zetec which I drive often too so i can tell you..
The zetec-s is faster (No surprise given 20 more bhp), just as good on fuel as the 1.4, is more comfy (seat wise) as it has better ones and looks a better with the different bumpers..
The downsides are, it's slightly lower and stiffer than the zetec, so it rides harder and has a close ratio box, which means youre doing near 3k rpm in 5th at 55mph...

Thanks. I suspect that I would like the Zetec chassis with a 1.6 engine. The missus has a 1.4 zetec which I drive often too so i can tell you..

Great little project OP and its nice seeing the attention to detail you have paid to it.
Reading this thread has also really made me miss my old Mk6.5 ST. Bought new in 2007 and ran for 3 years and I loved every minute driving that car, it's the only car that I have ever regretted selling.

You'd want the Zetec-S/ST seats aswell as they actually support you and aren't flat lol but Yeah, for normal driving I'd take my missus 1.4
I've just been out in its for the first time since lockdown. It really is a great little car. The weight of all of the controls, the response and feel are all really good.
@E36Ross mate, I'm following this build for 1.5 year now and your Fiesta is still one of the best OEM+ builds I've seen around.
I remember that you retrofitted the ST side skirts without using the TIgerseal. Can you explain a little more in depth how? I'd like to fit them on mine but I have no idea on how without permanently damaging the body.

Surprised I haven't seen it out and about. I also drive buses...
Close, Its KE. UK import, Registered in Kildare (Garage went bust) sold to a dealer in Kerry by auction and then I bought it.Surprised I haven't seen it out and about. I also drive buses...
I'm based in North Cork mostly, dont use the car for commuting though.

Basically an ST has the sill/wing drilled from factory and then little plastic clips (Same as the door card ones) that 'pop' into the sill. Then 3 studs underneath and 3m tape along the edges.
Mine was all drilled the same as an ST, Painted the hole edges and pumped the sills with waxoil at the same time.

Based on this I have started a MK2 Golf half-trailer. have you any photos of how the drawbar was fitted etc? Looks like a mega clean conversion.

Amazing part of the world to live in (I lived in the city for 5 years, my in laws are in Beara), not always the easiest place to be with a modified car though !

You're right, how E36Ross manages to keep a car clean is beyond me! Love your level of dedication to the fiesta though, amazing work
I live out towards the Killarney end, but recognised the Charleville pics as I spend an outrageous amount of time on the road. All our buses are washed after every shift, my daily goes months between washes
Where I live, I take it easy on my modified Passat, but haven't gone as low as some. The city is changing fast sadly, and don't get me started on the traffic now :/

Bit of a bump I know,
But don’t mind sharing the name of the tow bar you ended up using?
Hi, It's a Witter... F13AU. But don’t mind sharing the name of the tow bar you ended up using?
Hadn't planned on posting the next bits until it was finished but, It failed the NCT (Irish MOT) on 1 of the rear brake lines......
So the only obvious thing to do was completely strip the car underneath including dropping the rear beam and diesel tank.
Nearly back together again.

Glad this was bumped as I stumbled across it today whilst pretending to try and work hard at the gym. Great thread Op, love the effort and dedication, genuinely impressed. Have you had any further thoughts on the 6 speed conversion?
Hi sorry to bother you but I was just wondering see I have a mk6.5 zetec s tdci with all extras apart from a few such as auto dim headlights, auto wipers and Bluetooth, my questions are can I fit the auto stuff to the car and dose the Nokia Bluetooth kit work on playing music or is it just for calls only
Many thanks
Many thanks
