Well on the plus side at least it's big enough to sleep in it when the wife realises what a failure of a man willfully buys such a thing and then admits to it on the internet
On the plus side you'll be knee deep in granny fanny if that's you're bag, every cloud I suppose.
Curious that buying a car makes you a failure? On the plus side you'll be knee deep in granny fanny if that's you're bag, every cloud I suppose.
Why do we care what strangers think about our car choices in the UK?
I happily swapped a Type R GT to a Forester as the Type R was simply st.

If was intended as a piss take post but from the OP's response I clearly stuck my foot in it. I realise that reading it back combined with the OP's circumstance it was a thoughtless comment to make, hence my apology. However don't let any of this get in the way of you being offended on someone else's behalf.
I bought a 2 year old 1.6 8 valve petrol one in 2007 as a stop gap when a back injury made getting in and out of a "normal" car very painful. Was the most useful/versatile car I have ever owned. Ended up keeping it for 3 years/40,000 miles and apart from 3 services cost me nothing.

We bought a 53-plate 2.0 HDI 'Desire' model (most ironically named car I've ever owned!) Had four years of very trouble-free motoring with it. Other than a fuel pump and airflow meter, it was brilliant!
Had it remapped from 90bhp to 120bhp. Some might laugh, but it cost £80. £80 for 30bhp; 50lbft and 5mpg? Erm, yes please!
Not a desirable car in the slightest. Horrible to look at, horrible to be inside, and not great to drive. But that's all missing the point, and as people have alluded to already, we in this country care far too much what others think. We'll drive round in 'sporty' cars (i.e., cars that are normal cars, only with elastic bands as tyres and the suspension removed) because we think it makes us look better in front of the neighbours. It's tragic, really.
These are VERY good cars. Really, as far as what a car is designed to do, and in terms of being fit for purpose, you'll struggle to do better than a Xsara Picasso.
Good bits (IMO):

Good bits (IMO):
- Very practical
- Very cheap
- Very economical
- Very reliable
- You get to hear what people who care too much think
- Seats are totally unsupportive
- The way it drives
- The way it looks
- People sit on your arse on motorways and treat you worse than they seem to in other cars.
