I think that there is a Z3 under there somewhere. I had a chat with someone who has a red one somewhere. As a car, it seemed quite well put together and the unsilenced straight six sounded good. I’ve just got something against copies of cars (especially the LaFerrari MR2 I saw yesterday) with the possible exception of certain GT40s and the Chessil Speedster.
Ah is that what it is a Z3, that makes it even worse haha.
I hate people who have copies of cars and then try to pass it off as the real thing, like really argue with you that it is.
Case in point, a guy who lives near me called Michael Oliver. He has a Ferrari 250 GTE that he’s had rebodied as a 250 California Spider yet he tells everyone that it’s a real 250 California. I know the guy that did the work on it!!!
I don’t get why he’d have to lie.

What an MG Midget with a stty Ferrari kit!!!! Burn it, burn it noooooow. Then after that burn my eyes
I was going to question the wisdom / balls of someone parking a real one on the street and leaving the roof down!
It’s parked outside a private members club...you can see the doorman in the background. Think its The Arts Club on Dover St

Which even if it was a real California, would still be mental.

I would hope that someone with a real California would not have such a crap numberplate
They definitely couldn't put an F-reg on it.

As long as it doesn't have a Ferrari badge on it, I think it looks bloody great.

And with the 2.8 it'll sound and go well.

Popped along to a classic car show last night and there was a 250 GT Berlinetta everyone was crowding around, turned out to be a replica (said so on a fact sheet on the window) but what a body shape in person! Absolutely stunning

He could certainly afford a few real ones if it's the one I'm thinking of.

Along with his fighter jets.

Mate it doesn’t matter what others have got, you’re doing well by the sounds of it too. I’ve got mates that are 37 and living at home with their parents. My wife’s uncle is 52 and still lives at home with his folks. As long as you’re happy that’s all that matters.

I assume your outlook on life changed big time since your health issues?

Tbh all I want in life is my house paid off and a manual gallardo superleggera lp570 if there is any about! I don’t even know how you amass all that sort of property by the time your 36, seriously that’s some achievement! Keep up the good work

This would be nice, a PH charity event maybe where Pete puts his cars on show... Methinks Pete is much too busy to be doing that any time soon though...

You’re right, I’ve kind of grown this ‘fk it’ attitude. The crazy thing is, the more I’ve spent on cars, the more I’ve earned in business. It’s great how liberating life can be when you really stop caring about the outcome. It’s like life changes once you stop fighting against it, really weird.

I do yes.

Sorry to sound boring but I’m happy with all my colour choices. There’s nothing I’d change.

Amen to that, i’m the same age as you and if me having all your cars & property meant going through the hell you did with a brain tumour you can keep the cars - i’ll Settle for my E Class, 3 bed house and a healthy life. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, I don’t think they realised just how strong it would make you!

Not sure if asked before, but interested in what was your first 'special' car and how that felt at the age you where at the time?

I’ve spent a long time thinking about this too. It’s like the Alanis Morrisette (or however you say her name) song ‘Ironic’. I’ve got a load of nice cars, lots of free time now on my hands but yet don’t have the health to enjoy it. Well not just yet anyway.
I’ve just come to the end of my working life now, gave up my job role and positions within my companies. So starting next week it’s the start of MY recovery. I’m just going to spend my time meditating, doing yoga, training, sleeping and I’m also looking at Stem Cell treatment for the missing part of my brain. It’s a recovery similar to a stroke I guess.
I know I can get myself better but it’ll just take lots of time.
The one solace I take from my ‘previous’ hectic life is that I have the money and freedom of time to get myself better. Unfortunately for some they’re not so lucky.
They say that 1 out of 2 people will get some form of cancer or worse in their lifetime. Well I think I’ve had mine, just at an early age.
Besides I’m not bothered about myself anymore, it’s all about the kiddies and what I can do for them.
To good health.
Pete

My 986 Boxster when I was 20, bought it 2 weeks before my 21st birthday and couldn’t get insured until then so I had to wait haha. Yeah it felt pretty good.
