So the best advice I can give is don’t wait to do something you’ve always wanted to. Tell your wife, husband or partner that you love them, and if you don’t then move on haha.
Get a dog, they’re so good for your health unless you’re allergic.
Buy that car if you can afford it, mix up your routine and most importantly turn your TV off a few nights a week and soon you’ll just forget about it.
You know where this advice comes from? Every terminal person I speak to wishes they’d have done this.
Very well said. I find that cats are great stress-busters (no pun intended).Get a dog, they’re so good for your health unless you’re allergic.

So starting next week it’s the start of MY recovery. I’m just going to spend my time meditating, doing yoga, training, sleeping and I’m also looking at Stem Cell treatment for the missing part of my brain. It’s a recovery similar to a stroke I guess.
I know I can get myself better but it’ll just take lots of time.
The one solace I take from my ‘previous’ hectic life is that I have the money and freedom of time to get myself better. Unfortunately for some they’re not so lucky.
They say that 1 out of 2 people will get some form of cancer or worse in their lifetime. Well I think I’ve had mine, just at an early age.
Besides I’m not bothered about myself anymore, it’s all about the kiddies and what I can do for them.
To good health.
Pete
Pete, thank you for taking time to post about your car buying fun and general attitude towards life, one of my favorite threads on the whole internetI know I can get myself better but it’ll just take lots of time.

I've had the 'or worse' you refer too but was also very lucky as in 0.6% carry on as normal lucky when I died one evening at home from a cardiac arrest before reaching the grand olde age of 50
My approach to my new life hasn't changed much as I enjoyed the way I lived my old life ie getting on with $hit and a lot of it revolved around cars as like most Pistonheader's lives do!
I wish you all the luck I had and I'm sure you'll receive plenty of advice with your recovery but the best piece of advice I was given which I'd like to pass on is 'if you are tired you are not mending'

Is your version of meditating just sitting in a quiet room for a few mins before you get bored and pull your phone out of your pocket to buy another car?
Seriously though, congrats on the new purchase. Enjoy it (and the rest of the fleet) in good health!
I’ve heard the weather is pretty good next weekend if you’re free? Seriously though, congrats on the new purchase. Enjoy it (and the rest of the fleet) in good health!

No it’s definitely not, however I did know about this sale a few weeks ago. I did buy another Ferrari today though.
Wow, that is fantastic! My dream car back in my teenage years when it was the fastest car Autocar or Motor tested for about a decade.
And it looks far better in that colour than in red or silver.
Please let us know what you think of it - just so I can live my dream vicariously.

This PH’er might think he’s healthy now but he doesn’t know what’s round the corner and that’s what’s terrifying.

Couldn't agree more with this. My dad is terminal (throat) cancer patient, a few days to weeks out. Most of the things that you mention align with things I've learned from him. Along the way somewhere he forgot these principles somewhat and in his last days mentions a few regrets amongst the successes which all just serve as a reminder not to do the same.So the best advice I can give is don’t wait to do something you’ve always wanted to. If I hadn't mentioned already, thanks for this thread, not only is it great to read as a car lover but it's also hugely inspiring

Please excuse my ignorance... what the bloody hell is it? where can I read about it? its a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 aka the Daytona with Boranni Wheels and knock off spinners. An iconic car - Ferrari also made a convertible version which was so sought after companies like Autokraft ( Brian Angliss and his Cobras ) use to chop the top off and make them convertibles.

To be fair if someone gave me 100 guesses I would've likely never guessed what it was either, lovely looking thing thoughits a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 aka the Daytona with Boranni Wheels and knock off spinners.
