That’s the one, I’ve just turned over 2000 miles in mine too. It’s gone back in storage now as the roads are too bad with potholes and I don’t like what it’s doing to the car. Bloody love that car.
I find it genuinely endearing that you look after your baby fiat so much. And talk st about your astons and Mclarens, it’s quite refreshing.

‘fk you’ money is liberating. Maybe people without it shouldn’t be able to review cars hehe

Definitely agree, if you don’t have to worry about being given the next one to test you can be an awful lot more honest!

Yeah well that’s because the Fiat is the more involving car. Love the thing.

So I promised I’d post what I’ve been up to and what I’ve been buying lately.

Here’s the first little snippet of what’s been going on.

I’m doing this off a phone so if anyone can enlarge it and repost it so the people without Owl vision can read it then I’d be extremely grateful. Cheers

I got my 599 over at another Ferrari/Lambo specialist in Bucks and they do 85 quid an hour. That and 95 quid an hour is damn good value for the expertise!

just shows buying these things is only half the cost!

12 hours to replace disks and pads - that's a reassuring lot of time and care being taken.

So the new £145k race engine....

Is the original engine (with presumably matching numbers) shagged, or are you upgrading and you will crate up and keep the original engine?

No the original one is perfect, I’m just putting in a faster bigger engine in it so it’ll perform better on track. Everything that gets taken off the car will be placed in a flight case and put into storage.

Thanks everyone

As an update I’ve also spoke to James today and he’s going to be sourcing a 250 GTO gearbox and clutch plus the actual open gate shifter, plus 250 GTO blue comp seats. I’ve also asked to repaint the car in triple layer yellow to match my Speciale Aperta and Pista Spider, plus it’ll have the tricoloure stripe. The interior will be changed to black leather too as yellow paint with crema leather would just look wrong.

It’s a bloody big job as it’s new upgraded bigger pads and discs and all the auxiliaries to go with it too.
