Saw on the old Instagram that you’re actually seeking a car?
Are you ok Pete? Has corona driven you to this?
This makes zero sense!!!Are you ok Pete? Has corona driven you to this?
Are you ok? Has corona driven you to have a stroke haha
yes, saw you are actually selling a car!
this is so uncharacteristic of you that I had to ask, why?

Well I’ve already sold my Ferrari 330GT, the one that SCD did that amazing video on and now I’m selling my Ferrari Daytona, the one that Richard Hammond raced against James May in his boat in one episode.
Selling a few more bits and pieces as I’m after building my ultimate garage, and in that ultimate garage needs to be a 250 GTO Series 2, so I need to free up some space and especially some coinage if I want one of those.
So my ultimate garage is going to look like this
Ferrari 250 Lusso Competizione (fresh from a 2 year restoration)
Ferrari 250 GTO series 2
Ferrari 275 Competizione (rhd)
Ferrari 348 Competizione
Ferrari 16M
Ferrari F12TDF
Ferrari 458 SA
Ferrari Pista, Pista Spider & Piloti
Fiat 695 Biposto
BMW M2 CS
Alfaholics GTA-R
964 DLS
I think that will be my most perfect garage.

And the car(s) that started this off on here? the LFA and the Carrera GT ?
Oh no they’ll still stay, they’ll just be in storage with everything else. I’m talking about what will be in my home garage. 2manycars said:

This makes me smile every time i see it mentioned in your collection .I think that will be my most perfect garage.
How's the new house purchase coming along by the way? I think the one you had your eyes on last time has space for the garage?
Also any public update you can give on your stolen Aston? Anything been unearth from your PI you can tell us about?

I keep thinking I can justify it, but then bottle it. (man maths gets me to £7.5k, but can validate the £15k likely to be 100%)
Tempted by 280bhp/tonne wholesome V6 roadster goodness??
How do you go about getting a 250 GTO, is it just wait until one comes to auction and then get bidding ?
Imagine the bid increments must equate to a pretty nice house in one of the leafier bits of Cheshire, I know you aren't exactly on universal credit but in that scenario aren't you going up against multi billionaires ? Would you bid yourself or get someone else to do it on your behalf ?
I am not one to get over gushy over cars but they are a fantastic looking thing, look forward to hearing you have one.

With regards to buying a 250, I would imagine you would speak to people like DK Engineering who probably know or have contacts with a lot of the current owners and they put out quiet approaches.
Buying one at auction would be fruitless (apart from the seller and the auction house...they would get lots of fruit)

Well I’m definitely not a billionaire but I do ok for myself I guess. So it’s quite straightforward if you know the right people. I know of every 250 GTO series 1 & 2, it’s not hard either, just go on www.barchetta.cc and look up the car you want and it’ll give a full history of that particular car, then reach out to the owner and ask them if they want to sell. Most of them don’t even think about selling their car until you ask them then it’s like a lightbulb goes off in their head. You confirm a price, show your bank statements or get a letter from your accountant to show you’ve got the readies, then you meet somewhere neutral and see the car. If it’s everything you hoped it would be then you get your accountant or solicitor to wire their accountant or solicitor the money or you use Steve McLaren at Ferrari Financial Services and hey presto once the money has cleared and that person has sent the car away to have a final inspection then you usually get the car within about a month. Gives the current owner enough time to properly say goodbye to it, sounds weird but it’s an emotional thing saying goodbye to a car costing so much money. You start to think of all the hardships you’ve had to endure just so you could save enough money to buy it, then you remember all those extra special drives out you had in it, then you start thinking “stballs, did I make the right decision selling it?” then you really panic knowing you’ve made the wrong decision, then you numb the pain by going shopping and usually buying something even more expensive and ludicrous, thus starting the process all over again. It’s a fun thing, one that has consumed my life and one that now my wife absolutely hates hahaha.

You absolute madman. That garage is going to be another level.
presumably most of them are used to getting huge offers all of the time though?
obviously a 1 of 1 but I remember Jim on ferrarichat saying his p4/5 had recieved a couple of offers from Dubai that if accepted would have made it the most expensive car ever sold by a factor of 3! it can get crazy out there
