I don't follow this thread with any regularity but I just have to ask.
All these cars, beautiful cars.. but what do you jump in for the tip run. Park in Tesco. Muddy walks etc etc. Going to guess there's like a mk4 golf estate or a mitsubishi L200 with a spilt tin of paint in the bed?
Come on... Show us the dirty stuff.. smokinlaughlaughlaugh
Bentley Bentayga, had my bike in the back today. Didn’t even take the wheels off either. It’s our stwagon, full of the girls crap.

I'd be interested to know what the process is for a huge insurance claim like that, in broad brush terms at least.

It's not like you're arguing over a few hundred quid on the valuation of a single car, which has generally been the only dealings I've had with insurance companies.

Assuming you're with one company for all your cars did they cancel the policy once they'd paid out as they often do with us plebs?

Must be one of the biggest, if not the biggest single payout ever made in this country on an automotive insurance policy.

Bit disappointed with that to be fair, I remember the good old days with subways strewn across your dealers desk when spec’ing a car, I’d hoped for at least an XL Bacon double cheeseburger and fries on the wing.

I just spoke to my broker, they dealt with Hiscox and after the police had finished their investigation, they paid me.
And yes, I’m still insured with them. I think the biggest payout was for a totalled McLaren F1.

I had a claim with Hiscox once, they were very good and paid quickly, not the cheapest insurance company but well worth the slight extra. Glad the paid up OK Pete.

The 275 from THJ to match my Lusso

And here’s the GT3RS 4.0 from DK

Obviously the Porsche is faster, easier to drive, handles like its on rails and is 10+x safer in an accident, but that Ferrari is a beauty and the one I would have given the choice of the two. No idea why, a pure heart over head thing.

Glad to hear the insurance company played with a straight bat, bet they are making it a condition now that your cars are now stored in a location with a fire-suppressing install though!!

Don't know what you lost in the fire, but looking forward to seeing the collection re-built and hope you still have that intent of setting up a car museum for charity. Could bring in some extra cash for a very worthy cause.

Also want to see you in the pink car you promised your daughter if I recall correctly rofl

That's good news.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall after the first phone call went in.

I think that 'honour' might go to the Great Heck crash - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selby_rail_crash
Not many people get to tick the box on the claim form that says 'were there any other trains involved?'

Pete, like many others I love this thread: please keep on posting. Especially more pictures please.

They paid out £22m for the train crash. Am thinking the F1 alone in the fire would surpass that.

Wonder how much the policy costs.

£100k a year in the right ballpark?

What!!!! NO!
Just to clarify to everyone on here, there was no F1 in the fire. Don’t know where that’s come from.
I said the most expensive payout ever must have been the F1, which was totalled some years ago.
