Can imagine in an alternate universe...

Rob: "got '98 Astra 1.6 Club 123k miles"
2MC: "wot color brother?"
Rob: "lease white. Will take £350"
2MC: "you spoil me brother. Can't do until Jan will pay 275"
This made me laugh much more than it should have haha

It’s been amazing and stressful in equal measure! So many mistakes by the main contractor costing me time (and them money). We are now half way through the second fix stage, but when I loiter around long enough lisening to the lads they are being paid late, or out of the MD’s personal account. So I’m worried about giving them more cash! This is on account of another job refusing to pay them due to issues so they’ve a £30k hole to fill.

On the plus side though the house will be amazing once finished. The quality is great and it’s everything we could ever wish for in a house. It’s been great to make all the small decisions that make it perfect for us, and of course we can choose all the nice finishing touches.

Compared to buying a house, it’s an incredible experience and one I will never regret!
Oh yeah don’t pay them anymore until they’ve done what they are supposed to do, no matter what sob stories you hear. Builders do this a lot.
What’s the sq ft you’re building to?
When finished it’ll be approx 320sqm over 3 floors. We originally just specified attic trusses with a plan for a future loft conversion but the builders convinced us it will be cheaper to convert the loft now than in the future so we went for it

Are they good headphones, I’ve heard (no pun intended ha) that they are good. I’ve been searching for The Rocks new Under Armour ones but they only sell them in the states and they’re all sold out.

OT, it’s simething I have to do (build). My wife is dead against it. I’m sure the feeling once finished will be amazing. Best of luck
Mine was against it for a long time. Circumstances changed and we wanted to move to a certain place where value for money was hard to find. Showing her what we could never afford to buy but was just in our price range if we built it did the trick. Plus she’s had free reign on the interior fit out choices which swing the deal.

Anyway enough thread derailment. Back
To Pete’s amazing car collection. (I’ve a double garage in Leicester pete, more than happy to ‘look after’ any of your collection if you are stuck for storage space hehe )

Hey everyone

I don’t know if you remember but I got an email a few months back asking if I could do anything for a fellow PH’ers mate who also had a brain tumour. The poor lad in question was called Josh. I managed to take him out in few of my Ferrari’s and I got him to ‘take delivery’ of my TDF.
Well unfortunately he passed away today.
Please just remember that no matter what we have in this world, if we can’t share it with the less fortunate then it doesn’t really make our life’s any richer.
Rest easy Josh.

Ah that’s terrible frown

At least you did him well, the video of him in the TDF was great and he looked genuinely happy there for a while.

I’ve been looking for duffle bags to take to the hospital for when we have our baby in 10 weeks. Came across under armour ones. Then seen project rock and seen the headphones you mention.

I’m unsure on the retail price of the headphones. I can only imagine there is a mark up on them but they’re there.

Very sad news. Having lost 3 close friends way before their time, this pulls at my heart strings. RIP chap.

Very sad news.

My cousin passed away in his mid-30s due to a brain tumour - that was the saddest thing in my life, especially as he was a father of 3.

Life doesn't often seem too fair - RIP Josh.

Was my interpretation of that WhatsApp exchange correct in that the asking for a 250 SWB is now around £50m? Christ!

That said, someone paid over £100m a few years back for the The Scream by Edvard Munch.

I know which one I would choose to put in a room and look at all day - my selection wouldn't have a frame around it!

Neither will devalue in the long-term either - probably one of the best places to put your cash if you are playing at that level and want to set up trusts/charities going forward.
