It's funny, we took ours to Dunster from Southampton on the last weekend of June and it was perfect, then over the weekend it decided it didn't want to start, not enough amperage in the battery to crank but the battery was showing 11.7 volts, new battery and it's all ok again!!

Glad yours is going well!

Talking of batteries, mine was a little dim on the headlights for about a week, then the misses drove to the middle of the Republic of Ireland, THEN the battery gave up without an alternator!

Mine is on its last legs now.. Keep yours going, they are good steeds when they work!

128, not a huge distance, we drive Southampton to various places in Scotland every other year, last trip up was 1350 miles all told, next trip next year is Aberdeen so a round trip of 1145 miles plus whatever mileage we do while up there!!

I'll be doing in the region of 500 miles over the weekend so not as many as that, I intend to keep this one a while yet. I'd rather be seeing my family under different circumstances to be honest, we're scattering my grans ashes this weekend.

Sorry to hear that chap, it's never easy losing anyone, let alone family, we lost a close friend to brain tumours at the end of May.

Thanks. Sorry to hear about your friend. It was expected as she was taken ill last Christmas and didn't recover.

It's done over 500 miles this weekend going from Hull up to Berwick, back down to Ashington, up to Lindisfarne and back to Hull. Total since purchase nearly 11500 which means in nearly 9 months its done about as many miles as it did in the last 2 years before I bought it.

Yes it's still going strong, it will need a full service within the next couple of months and a cambelt before the end of the year so may as well all get done together.

Came back to the car earlier on to find it had made a friend, this dragonfly seemed attracted to the windscreen wiper for some reason.

Glad to see this is still treating you well.

I still think the Mk2 estate is a lovely proportioned car, has aged well.

Thanks bungz I agree the Mk2 Estate is really well proportioned. It's getting a full service and cambelt within the nexr few weeks and I'll get the air conditioning serviced as well as no idea when it was last done.

Headlight bulb changed this morning, the passenger one had blown again. At least they are easy to change not a PIA like Mrs Eyerseys Corsa.
