If you haven't seen either the Tell us something Trivial thread or the Mr unpopular thread then you won't know about me being a complete plum yesterday and putting nearly 1/2 a tank of unleaded in our diesel Focus, having to call the breakdown people and have the tank emptied and wasting 4 hours of our Sunday!!! rolleyes

Luckily we took the full breakdown cover with our insurance through Admiral and it's included in the policy, I think you can only claim once a year but normally it's around £170 apparently!!! eek

Had call from garage a few minutes ago, full service, cambelt, sump, water pump and alternator belt coming to about £900, at least it will be fully sorted then and shouldn't need anything else doing for a while.

That's actually not bad for all that, cost us £385 just for cambelt, water pump and tensioner about 2 1/2 years ago!!

It's a little more than I expected but at least I will have a fully sorted car that's a known quantity. The water pump and alternator belt are being replaced as neither I nor the garage have any idea when they were last done.

Heading to pick the Focus up, the garage are just finishing it off now, apparently the water pump was a bit of a brute to get off so took them longer than they thought it would.

Fingers crossed Eyersey1234's won't need anything, including ac work. (mine needed a new condenser in 2013, the guy who replaced it was commenting how many were failing - small holes on the back of the condenser, close to the rad.

Mad Monk, to level things out, mine needs lots of work. Like seriously lots. Like un-reliable now lots.

Yeah maybe I shouldn't have said that, don't want to tempt fate. Total bill for the service, cambelt, sump etc came to £936 including Vat.
