Indeed. But i'll be doing 25k a year. Whoops.

Forgot to add, this gives the car a genuine 500+ mile range. Useful.

The little things...

Very important, you see. The car normally washes and wipes, front and rear, with a touch of a button. When the fluid level is low, it makes you manually do it, to reduce use... clever.

I keep looking at these. Had one a few years ago and have had L322's and L405's since but am now trying to find something to replace my A4 Avant.

This looks pretty good to me? As you're becoming a P38 guru, any thoughts on it?

I wouldn't touch that with a 10' barge pole.

for starters "Also benefits from a full LANDROVER spec coil spring conversion" is rubbish, no such thing. Coils are fitted when the owner is too lazy or too cheap to keep the air running. There was never a Land Rover offering of a P38 on air.

It has salesman’s waffle, but you never know unless you see it in person, I suppose.

I’ve got a bunch of other things to deal with before looking at reverting to EAS. Everything seems to be in place, though.

So these were always on springs then?

That's a bonus in my opinion.

It removes my star against that text. The previous poster meant they haven’t offered a P38 not on air. They all had EAS.

Bookmarked!

I have a soft spot for these, good to see one getting some TLC.

How long do you plan on keeping it for?

The p38 was only ever sold with air suspension. Coil conversions are aftermarket. Obviously coils can and do work as older Range Rover classics and Disco 1’s and some Disco 2’s run could, although the spring rates offered by the conversions probably vary depending on who’s kit it is.

That said a p38 on air probably rises a fair chunk better than on coils. And of course with coils you lack the lowered high speed mode and the raised off road mode.

I'm not sure. I normally have the intention to keep vehicles a long time and then they get moved on quickly. This one is fulfilling everything I need of a vehicle, so I hope for it to last as long as possible.

Stop with these dangerous threads wink

Cracking buy... love it. I’d enjoy wuffling around in that, although you’re falling into the same trap as I am currently,,, trying to restore a 25yr old Hymer to perfection!

Very true. Sometimes you can go too far to try and keep them fresh.

I've tried new cars; I just don't like the whole experience. Funny how old a car from the 21st century can feel, though.

Stereo arrived. "Original" JVC started to skip and was low end anyway.

Very glad to see un-butchered wiring.

Slightly newer Kenwood, £23 delivered and sounds much better.

Yes, that part of the dash is letting the interior down and it is my plan to replace it all.

Wonderful - I'm seeing one tomorrow, a 4.6 V8, 140k but with last owner for 12 years and full history (we'll see).

I've had cars off this dealer before and he always seems pretty straight and honest. We'll see what happens........

Indeed. Yet to ever see a car where full history was exactly that. Post some pics, whatever happens!

I would have you Knighted for that perseverance.

My one seems to have had everything done in its time with the last owner.
Increasingly low mileage between MOT’s.....

I know these like the back of my hand after the numerous rip offs by LR specialists and main dealers alike... spent £3,000 on a “restoration” of the air suspension units only for it to fail again within 6 months.

Weird US style specification when i bought it from H.R Owen.. bull bar, light covers and twin Hella square spotlights (complete with a wasp that died about 11 years ago). Turned down a ML55 so I reckon this is still less cahncil?

I took off the original wheels to preserve them, and it’s now sporting some Range Rover Sport alloys that don’t look to bad [don’t flame me I swear) smile

I drove this to the city once.... never again

Never does mega miles....only jaunts across London, France and over to Wales when it’s needed.

It’s so satisfying smile
