I went with an original brand new blank ECU to bypass the immobiliser problems so standard rev limit. It would have been nice to hold a few less revs at cruising speed. Did make for a rapidly accelerating car that upto 100mph probably had the measure of my RS6. But then runs out of revs. Those sorts of speeds aren't really needed unless you are tracking it.

It's a shame Edge are more expensive but he is in quite high demand but I will be having my final 'special car' trimmed out by him fingers crossed.

I briefly owned your MR2 back in 2013 (I think) Lee.. Wish I'd kept it at the time and tweaked it to suit! I still have thoughts of chopping my SC VX220 in and building a 2GR SW20 to my ultimate spec..

Just had a read through your build thread. very nice car! makes me want to get this one done even sooner!

Luke had already bought an ECU from frankenstein motorworks with no immobiliser and the raised rev limit. Im hoping that since the loom is all done and was running in a previous car, i will all just be plug and play.

Hi everyone.
Im aware there haven't been any updates for quite a while. Finding time to work on the car is quite difficult!

Here's whats been happening:

I bought a Rotisserie and made mounts that bolt to the front and rear crash bar. (this will be for sale in a week or so if anyone fancies a full resto!)


Then the car went to the bodyshop to have the underside 2k Epoxy primered before i seam seal and use the bedliner for the underseal. Took a while to get it to this stage!




I also had the frunk and the engine bay sprayed in the final colour so that we could build the car and get it running, without the worry of damaging fresh paint. Im not going to upload those pictures because i dont want to give the final colour away yet!

More soon. The build will be happening in the next week so there'll be lots to post

Apologies for the silence on here, been pretty busy!
This is going to be a pretty big update!

So i got the car back from the bodyshop where they epoxy primed the underside and painted the bay and the frunk. The next job was then to seam seal and Bedliner.

Very happy with the result and it looks brand new!

After that it was time to get the powdercoated running gear back on the car which had all been fitted with SuperPro bushes.
I also took this opportunity to change the steering rack worm gear to a MK3 one. This means its less turns lock to lock.

I am going to change the suspension bolts for new ones!


And finally it was time to get the 3.5l V6 engine in the car. This went in surprisingly easy!

And after dealing with endless amounts of wiring, and phone calls to the legend that is Paul Woods- She lives!

Hi all

So the car is now sprayed and most of the external work has been done.
There are a few outstanding jobs to be done, but im hoping to get the car ready for MoT within a month or so.

Next up is the interior!

What an amazing car, an absolute credit to both yourself and Luke.

I've had my turbo for nearly 5 years now and there is still an old 'Pacific Works' sticker inside the engine lid from when I bought it. My cars history file also has some receipts from Pacific, so there is no doubt that Luke has helped keep mine alive at some point in it's life (way before I owned it).

I know these cars are beginning to appreciate but I still cannot believe how underestimated and cheap you can pick these MR2's up for. It seems that, people buy them and end up keeping them. People who don't know may never know what they're missing out on...

I hope the car brings you lot's of joy and I hope to see it one day.

Are you going to put a paint protection film on the front? Wouldn't want all that work getting messed up with pesky stone chips!
