Very nice cavalier. I always wanted the Calibra 4wd turbo but was frightened away by the fragile 4wd system.

Hey, I think I saw you on the motorway! M6 on Friday I think? Unless there's someone else in the habit of towing mk3 Cavs covered in masking tape about the place...

Timewarp stuff. Really glad you are intending on keeping it OEM and not adding "a few subtle mods" as many seem to be tempted to do...

Where the car had been sat for the majority of its life, it had some proper 90's speed camera detector on the windscreen, the plug has been butchered but i may see if I can get it to work lol. The car even smells of the 90's, it's terrific

That’s ace.

Keep us updated - how easy is it to source the original parts? Can’t imagine there are many left that haven’t succumb to rust.

An older family friend had a Calibra Turbo back in the day. He took me for a drive in it when I was a kid, genuinely thought it was the fastest thing on earth.

Car looks great OP. clap

Blast from the past and looks in amazing condition OP! Had a Nova GTE in the early 90’s and always fancied one of these, but sadly funds never allowed as I went to Uni’. Looking forward to seeing how your fettling to get it back to true OEM goes.

You lucky sod - Id pay strong money for one of those!

Any idea if there are any more gems available anywhere?

I won't beat around the bush, I paid £17.5k for this example. I know of 2 others that are in a similar league to this one. One white and one blue, neither owner will part if them for less than £20k

Cool and rare car.

I would leave the charge cooler on though, it will protect the engine and was a period mod that is hard to detect.

That looks great Hedgey.

Hardly ever see one now and that looks in excellent nick for the age.

You certainly won't feel short changed in modern traffic with the standard performance and 6-speed box etc. despite all the PH "experts" telling you how a 320d or something is faster!

The lad who quoted us for our double glazing had one as a company car back in the late 90s ( he worked for his Dad's company ) - I remember having a good look round it when he came to measure up etc

Look forward to hearing about it

I've always wanted one of these and yours looks mint. I came very close to buying one(on two occasions), looking back I wish I'd gone for it for sure.

Enjoy it. thumbup

Great car. I'm not a big Vauxhall fan, but have a soft spot for the Cavalier, fond memories of my uncle owning various Mk2 CDI's and SRi's back in the 80's/early 90's smile
