A colleague ran one for a couple of years; had an exhaust and a tune up to around 420HP from memory. I drove it a couple of times and it effortlessly was able to reach silly silly (German autobahn) speeds. While I tend to agree with the consensus that is probably a bit boring and perhaps a little ragged above 8/10ths, for a point-and-squirt mile eater it must be a good choice, especially with the DSG.
I really like these, and this one looks great.
The comparisons with the BMW 1M were inevitable when launched, but despite being a BMW fan, I'd take one of these.
I suppose we've all see the Chris Harris test against the M135i on YouTube, so I'd have to remap, and I'd want the optional buckets.
Enjoy!

Depending on how long you plan on keeping it, if its a long term thing, i'd keep it standard. Unmodified examples of these will be like hens teeth in 5 years time.
That's a really valid point, unmodified examples are already getting harder to find.As you say, might be worth leaving this one as is and getting a little project instead..
Few years down the road, a nice standard 2 owner car will be hugely desirable.
Lovely car OP. Always lusted for one of these, went for a spin in one a few years ago and was impressed.

The bucket seats on the 8p are pretty rare, although stunning, and better than the supersports in the 8v.
Werent they something like a £5k option?
I have the Recaro 'wingback' bucket seats in my 2012 Golf 6 R, they were around £3800 as an option IIRC - like the RS3, there aren't many cars with them for obvious reasons!Werent they something like a £5k option?
