Facebook marketplace Lexus RX400h SE-L, what could go wrong?
Discussion
Yup, the fact that I’ve not been full on aggro has helped. We’ll have to see where we go from here but I’ll be glad to have the Leaf back.
I was clear that the experience has been unacceptable (they agreed), and that we will need to reach an amicable arrangement of the bank does not come through.

For other question, what made you decide to buy Mitsubishi phev? and not Lexus SUV hybrids? I would totally go for RX to be honest from their approved used selection... I see loads of Mitsubishi PHEV around, but they do look a bit bloated and big comparing to Lexus range, imho of course...
It seemed a good compromise of both our current cars - Nissan Leaf and the Lexus, so that we could toodle round town on battery and then have the petrol engine and storage space for longer road trips. I'd love a Takumi edition of a RX 450h but I don't want a traditional hybrid anymore, Lexus's implementation has not improved enough from our current version and they do not (nor seem to have in the pipeline) a PHEV variant.I am also mindful of the car market in 5 years time and drop in resale value of petrol and traditional hybrid motors.

Are you aware of the news that Mitsubishi seem to be pulling out of future European operations?
Yes, it's great timing Luckily this is a dealer with multiple franchises so I am not concerned about them disappearing. It was a complete surprise to the dealer, they found out via the same press release the public did.Service and warranty work is appearing to continue for 10 years but not sure what this is going to do for resale values etc.

I like it but I can't get on with the amount you'd have to spend on options to get it at the right spec. The misses is the dealbreaker here, she has to like the look of the car and be able to drive it. She doesn't like the look of the new era Lexus design which is a shame.Edited by LincolnLovin on Thursday 30th July 12:49
I do worry about the longevity of the Outlander PHEV, but the misses has her heart set on it still. Regardless its probably foolish to look at alternate cars until this issue is resolved.
I may just put new car purchases on hold for 2020 and get the Leaf & RX serviced instead. The more I drive the RX the better it feels and more I am reminded why we bought it in the first place. The battery has seemingly improved with use (unsurprising), and apart from the dogbone engine mount being worn it feels incredibly solid. I am thinking about removing the drivers seat and reinstalling the DVD player this weekend as it was such a PITA to install in place that I gave up.

Apart from the tax, I cant see the point of the outlander PHEV, I had a 69 plate one for three months. Unless you plug it in every day ( then get about 20 miles ) there is virtually no recharge of electric, maybe a mile or two at max, the petrol economy was shocking, about 33mpg, whereas a diesel would give me 46 ( our other glc250). There are the choice at work now as the tax is about 300 a month as opposed to the 600 for the Merc, but as a private purchase , why would you. In the end I bought the GLC, its better in every way.
If you’re not charging every day then you are going to miss out on the point of a PHEV imo. BrettMRC said:
Have you had that in writing, along with why?
What has the dealer said with this taken into account?
Yup its in writing, they said that they (the bank) did everything it needed to according to the code but that I could had done more. I don't consider what I have done to be gross negligence so will escalate to the ombudsman. What has the dealer said with this taken into account?
I'm awaiting a callback from the dealer to discuss.
