It's all modular so once you have access to the battery it's simple to replace the cell. The battery unit itself is under the back seats, so certainly easier to access than the Leaf.
You'll want sash-clamps to get the pack together though wink

bushes are what go in these. Front control arm rubbers perish and crack, also rear knuckle bushes (sounds like the rear hatch is loose and rattling)..

Febi do all necessary parts, not expensive to have repaired.

I think the bushes came up on the last MOT, will be interesting to see if they need doing for this one.

According to the forums the bushes look perished from the outside but are still ok. Even from new they looked worn out after about 18 months apparently.

I bought an 06 Rx400h a month ago, we've done around 1500 miles since purchase, love the way it rides, silent and effortless, I even like the CVT.

The only downside for me so far is the radio reception is utter crap, possibly a problem with the aerial and one of the stepper motors controlling the airs vents is playing up, it keeps clicking, doesn't do it all of the time though.

And another real benefit is that my wife likes driving it... unbelievable bonus as she normally moans about everything.

EDIT - Just checked and mine has had the bushes down as an advisory since 2013..still never failed an MOT on them.

I don't think I've actually used the radio more than once but reception seemed to be fine, will check it out.

MOT passed:

Advisories:

Offside Front Windscreen wiper blade defective split (3.4 (b) (i))
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Child Seat fitted not allowing full inspection of adult belt off side rear and near side rear ()
Rear Registration plate deteriorated but not likely to be misread (0.1 (b))
rear wiper blade split

I think I can sort that hehe

Very nice!

Do you rate the M L sound system? What sort of mpg are you actually getting?

I'm surprised you didn't get a fail on the front wiper - and I don't think the rear wiper is testable.

I think you have to give them something to find, but that list is quite annoying!

Yeah it’s really good, supports DTS as well for when you watch a dvd...not that I’ve tried that yet.

Current mpg is 31.4, it’s creeping up as I get a better handle on maximising battery only time.

I’ve used that garage for over a decade and so trust them with all of my car, the rear number plate does need replacing and I knew the wipers would probably get mentioned.

Anyhow I have replaced all three wipers and will see about getting some replacement plates.

I found that the computer mpg is slightly higher than actual, the computer shows 32 but actual has been around 29. Still not bad for a car of its considerable size.

Had the catalyst on mine stolen a couple of weeks ago. Loads are being stolen across the country.

Catalyst theft is something I'm worried about as well. Not sure we can do much about it though.

Replace with a straight pipe (or US version which is cheaper/different) and swap out at MOT time.

There are a few alarms on the market apparently but in this case (Also Lexus hybrid owner) I'm thinking of waiting until the horse has bolted before considering one

The alarm seems pointless as it will be drowned out by the angle grinder.

Wont drown out the alert on your phone which as a powerfully built PH'er would be the desirable option I'm sure

Just park it on the stairs if you need to be dominating things.
