Are you aware of the news that Mitsubishi seem to be pulling out of future European operations?
Yes, it's great timing Luckily this is a dealer with multiple franchises so I am not concerned about them disappearing. It was a complete surprise to the dealer, they found out via the same press release the public did.Service and warranty work is appearing to continue for 10 years but not sure what this is going to do for resale values etc.

I like it but I can't get on with the amount you'd have to spend on options to get it at the right spec. The misses is the dealbreaker here, she has to like the look of the car and be able to drive it. She doesn't like the look of the new era Lexus design which is a shame.Edited by LincolnLovin on Thursday 30th July 12:49

So Mitsi Outlander PHEV is the only option?
RE: Outlander PHEV...
I had the facelifted top trim version for 2 years from new. We did less than 12000miles in that time, and they were not hard miles - but the trim was squeaking and bits were starting to fall off within a year.
On a run it was a struggle to get 30mpg, and the fuel tank was very small. Realistic electric range was about 10miles give or take.
My wife loved it, but I couldn't see past the build quality issues and veto'd getting another one. (We had the C350e instead of another Outlander)
Hopefully the newer ones have a better combined range, but in the dealership even brand new ones still had the same squeeks and rattles. (That was looking in 2019)
Might be worth looking at the Toyota Rav4 as I think there is a PHEV version of that coming.
The X5 45e is an epic do everything car, but as you say - very option sensitive.

Brett, can I ask what sort of electric-only range you get from the C350e please?I had the facelifted top trim version for 2 years from new. We did less than 12000miles in that time, and they were not hard miles - but the trim was squeaking and bits were starting to fall off within a year.

I do worry about the longevity of the Outlander PHEV, but the misses has her heart set on it still. Regardless its probably foolish to look at alternate cars until this issue is resolved.
I may just put new car purchases on hold for 2020 and get the Leaf & RX serviced instead. The more I drive the RX the better it feels and more I am reminded why we bought it in the first place. The battery has seemingly improved with use (unsurprising), and apart from the dogbone engine mount being worn it feels incredibly solid. I am thinking about removing the drivers seat and reinstalling the DVD player this weekend as it was such a PITA to install in place that I gave up.

C350e has gone now, but I did have a thread https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
From time to time it would get double figures, realistic was nearer 8 or 9miles.
The regen etc was great though, same as on the 45e.
