Here is some more (and better) photos of the bucket seats & dash. We are really happy with them.

The smaller steering wheel really transforms diving the car, one tiny step towards nimble.....

Does half the stuff behind the dashboard need to be there??

Most of that 'stuff' looks like the Hevac unit and associated 'weight'.

the plastic junk behind the dash doesn't weigh much. Most of the weight in the ac is the pump and associated bracketry. the remains of the system are removed for largely cosmetic/space/tidy/airflow reasons

This needs:
- Timing data like the "The not so common A45 AMG" from ecain63
- Weight saving data like "Ferrari F430 Spider" from mwstewart

a good read so far.

I'm not sure the approach is quite as methodical as an mwstewart thread! hehe.

Yes. A significant amount of factory corrosion protection.

What were LR thinking letting these go out with so little to stop them dissolving?

Rounding to one decimal place will be fine.

This is JLR, son of Leyland. They were thinking "fk it, that'll do" hehe

I think the corrosion is a nod to the Range Rover Classic. You know, playing on the marque's heritage and all that... wink

Are the exhausts now pointing straight at the fuel tank?

Inbuilt obsolescence!!

A page or so back someone mentioned the MOT and the state of the dash/inside of the car.
There's one hell of a lot of sharp edges.
Is this really OK?

I guess the dashboard is out to get all the unneeded gubbins and wiring to be removed and then a lightened dash fitted!!

Absolutely cracking idea lads! Really enjoyed reading the thread and can't wait to see it on track. You even prompted me to actually write a bit about my own LR and I hate self promotion.

Personally I think you should keep the air suspension and the A/C. Could you not make some custom air spring buckets to control the spring rates?

It doesn't really, I doubt we're going to see Range Rovers becoming the track day car of choice

If you need any more inspiration, this is how effective a diesel Discovery can be on track when a Ring Taxi driver is at the wheel - it's pretty impressive biggrin , and apparently on winter road tyres... https://youtu.be/XggmU0ks7kk

You'd feel quite the tt in your "fast" car when a diesel Landrover flew past you like he's doing to more than one in that video.

Luckily not. They are pointing at the spare wheel well. The plastic tank is in front of the axle. All 88 litres of it.
