A few weekends ago i managed to take the car on a fun drive around our local area to gel with it better. 155miles done in the afternoon along the Blairgowrie Old military road to Glenshee, Braemar, Ballater, Banchory and then the Slug road and coast road home.
The car never missed a beat and i was grinning the whole time. The conditions were wet with some snow in places but the michelins worked great.
A few pics from the drive.
Also took advantage of the eurocarparts sale and got a set of rubber mats for £19. Obviously not genuine but will do the job to keep the carpet mats in good condition over winter.
The wife got me a new air freshner for the car.
And finally in its natural habitat.

This isn’t bad tbh. I guess it had only done 39k miles when I bought it so it’s proably still pretty tight but it definitely feels like it needs a short shifter. Like every bmw I’ve owned
Lucky you - i'm used to wobbly BMW shifts but my E92 has to be virtually wrestled into 2nd, then rev-matched with millimetric precision to avoid you being chucked towards the windscreen. As a result, it's currently awaiting diagnosis from a gearbox specialist. That's on top of a multitude of small gremlins on both cars. Failed batteries on both, seized caliper, fault codes galore, limp modes, kangarooing when cold etc.
But when they're on song...what an engine!

...Or you make the more wise choice and go for the DCT! I think that is a better fit with the engine.
Agree to an extent - but had the E92 come with a better manual box it would have been less of a clear-cut decision. The manual is a slightly less-manic experience and makes the car feel a bit more 'old school', in a nice way.

Good work on cleaning up the beemer.
For me though - your old Clio 182 is the more interesting car.
Its actually the one car i miss the most. it was bought to keep and give to my wife but she just loves her little fiesta too much that she didn't want it, so it was sold to put funds towards the new work van at the time. For me though - your old Clio 182 is the more interesting car.
it had a lot of work done to it, i think i'd need a Trophy if i ever bought another.
The weathers been a bit on and off over the past week but thankfully i was finally able to get a garage next to my house tat ive been after for quite a while now.
It needs some tlc but i will get there eventually with it.
First up was to clear it out. Swept, jet washed and then Paint and repair the doors. It would benefit from new doors tbh but they will do for now.
If anyone can shed some light on the Petrol pump in the corner? i think thats what it must've been for anyway.
Got in the garage today to service the car and replace the old filter with an upgraded BMC. The annoying part is getting the correct oil level seen as the M3 doesn't come with a dipstick and is easily over filled and the sensor not always giving the most accurate reading.
I love the fact the car has quite a good sized boot. Bought a luggage net to keep my stuff from ending up all over the place.
