DIFFUSER:-
It’s not taken long but I have a few things I’ve already decided I want/need to update or change...

The first being the standard aluminium 3 element diffuser which for me looks a little dated not being black and secondly doesn’t stand out enough.

I’ve previously updated my last Elise with a 3 element black diffuser but extended by 60mm compare to the standard one, this was from Hangar 111 a very well known lotus specialist in the Ipswitch area.

I contacted them this week and they’ve offered me a new version which is still 60mm extended over the standard one, but now has 5 elements.

My concern was that it would look “too after market” which I don’t want. But I’ve been assured by Kate who works at Hangar 111 that it’s a good mix between OEM and the later diffuser on the S3 Elise.

Until it arrives in two days time thought I would upload a picture of the standard factory 3 element and the new 5 element... let me know your thoughts?....

How does it compare to the 111R in terms of build quality, rattles, noise etc?

Tricky to know with that diffuser, could look a bit too much as you mention. I'd need to see it from higher up to decide.

Looks fabulous all cleaned up though! Amazing how much dirt and junk was under the seats, i'd be emailing the dealer pics, they hardly cleaned it!

Personally I prefer the simpler diffuser, but it’s a matter of personal taste. If you like the 5 elements, then that’s what you should go for.

It’s basically the same car with a different damper (from the exige) and the later dash... seems to be the same lotus build quality as always and the same rattles... just faster! 😁

Thanks for your kind words, yes I thought about it too but to be honest you can’t get under the seats as the are set so low it’s a common issue people have with the amount of muck hidden away under the seats! And the service etc I’ve had off them was very good overall.

I’m under the same opinion as you on the diffuser but I know I can return it and tbh as the supercharged version as a rear subtle wing on the back I think it may look in proportion on this model... I wanted have done it on my previous 111R which didn’t have a rear wing!... we shall see tomorrow but I shall fit it and take some photos and let you see what you think.

You are so right, will see tomorrow when it turns up, worse case scenario a return it and get the more own 3 element in black which is still extended

Lovely colour scheme! I see you got a discount on the purchase price of the car thanks to the spare change found under the seats biggrin (seems a right of passage when buying a used Elise...)
