Not surprised; the compound that Michelin use is superb; but I've found it to go very hard over time and then I got a lot of droning and I'm not the only one to say this...
For the c3-4k miles I might do this year; PS4s are overkill for my needs.
Plus as the E39 tourings are much firmer damped on the rear due to the SLS, I want a tyre that has a bit of a softer sidewall; hence the FK510s or RainSport 5s. The ride is firm with the all new suspension; it was quite crashy on rough roads on the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti's unfortunately, albeit they were 18" sizes.
I want good wet & dry grip as well as a more compliant ride
As a low mileage user, Bridgetstones seem to be good too. I've taken 14 year old ones off of cars that looked great. I can't vouch that they've not turned to plastic though. For the c3-4k miles I might do this year; PS4s are overkill for my needs.

Softer sidewalls also are a consideration, as for some cars is the design. I've seen some mates that run only certain tyres on some more 'stancey' cars because certain tyres rub.
Tyres are like oil. it's a very subjective opinion.

I have considered the Conti 6s; they're only a few £ more than the Goodyear F1s... But still; The RainSport 5s and FK510s would be nearly £100 cheaper all round and both very capable tyres...!
Agree; tyre, oil & brakes are very personal choices...

Shiny! As always...
It was; it's absolutely filthy currently and it's not moved all week.It got rained on and that had the Sahara sands in it early on this week and 3 houses down have just had their driveway done; so all the debris has floated along the cul de sac and made the cars filthy...
So that's tomorrow's job

I know everyone harps on about them, but you won't be disappointed, Dan. Michelin did a really good job of the PS4.
Yeah; I know they get rave reviews. Just the 18s that I had on my Style 37s back in 2019 didn't do them justice I don't think. They droned, a LOT and it annoyed the hell out of me But they were a good few years old too...I'll get the 66s refurbed and get the PS4s stuck on and they'll be good to go
