It's faffy; lots of clips & bolts plus it's absolutely filthy under the arch liners
Fortunately bone dry though, so it's just a case of working the APC in and rinsing well!
Plus my arch liners are new, well, 12 months old! The original ones literally crumbled when I removed them last time around, so needed to be replaced. Worth bearing in mind if someones going to attempt this too!
Arch liners refitted, cleaned and treated with AG Rubber & Vinyl care:
Dinitrol would of been better imo, combined with your suspension refresh it would of gave you loads of sound dedening.Fortunately bone dry though, so it's just a case of working the APC in and rinsing well!

It's all been covered in another post
Did't' want to go down that or the Billt Hamber route etc
Want to try and keep the car as OEM as it came from the factory; OEM+ per se. So didn't want to go OTT with underseal or go for the black oily stuff etc
Took lots of advice from folks on here & other forums and spoke to a number of classic car guys I know and a few pals in the car body shop industry and the Lanoguard stuff is getting very well reviewed; so stuck to that
Jack pads removed (all 4 snapped on the tabs that slot it into place, so 4 new ones ordered from BMW)
Sills thoroughly sealed; I've sprayed the Lanoguard in everywhere I can reach with the long nozzle until it started to flow out.
Jack point holes taped over, for now; should give it time to dry off as much as it does before the new pads land with me

Another not exciting task; but needed to get it done
Tailgate area trim removed; all areas cleaned (absolutely disgusting); pleased to say the wire looms look in excellent health and theres no corrosion.
The plastic clips have all snapped before my time with the car; so 3M trim tape used to hold the sections down tightly; but only used enough to do just that and not permanently glue it down (just in case it ever needs to be removed again).
Rear wiper mech all cleaned and greased; rear tailgate latches cleaned & greased too

Not a lot to report currently...
The cars hardly moving as we've been away; but also having work done at the house, so have needed to be in etc...
It has sat absolutely filthy for a week due to the non-stop rain; so the car (and the wife's Racing Jazz) got full inside and outside treatments yesterday Notice it's not on our drive for a change; that's full of landscaping materials, so it's on the neighbours drive
The car is booked in on 09th for a tracking & alignment tweak/check-up though...

Have followed this for ages and just saw this on C&C. Sad times, good luck with the sale.

Appologies if you have covered already (not read the whole thread) but have you replaced the tailgate gas struts (tailgate and glass, but mainly the tailgate).
If so was it difficult or is it something that can be tackled without special tools?
Thanks in advance.

They were done before I bought it
With the right pry bar the jobs not that bad from what I've read. There is lots of info on Google re this and the 5 forums too
Stick with the Stabilus struts, don't use any others

Interested to know what products you're using to clean & maintain the Cloth / Alcantara interior?
A hoover (honestly; that's about it) But I have used a touch of Autoglym interior shampoo where necessary and, if the Alcantara gets bobbly, one of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Minky-TT70300101-Bobble-R...
It works really well and literally just takes the top off the fuzz that gets created

There is another UK 530i Touring for sale currently on TheMarket auctions; it's only done 60k, but it has rust issues and it has nowhere near the level of attention mines had and it's up for nearly £9k already!
So unless they're fake bids etc; I'd say my asking price is very fair, more so due to how well its been looked after!
The one that Old Colonel Cars had sold for £8k recently too! Again, another UK car, it WILL have had some rust somewhere and was basic spec too
