It's amazing how many people have a Meg and then an M3, and some go back and forth on that a couple times too. Both great cars. Enjoy the M3!

Same move I made, not one I'd make with hindsight. Took me 3 months to start enjoying the m3 after the megane. If you put decent rubber on the car it's more difficult to unsettle the rear end, you'll understand what I mean when you've been driving it a while.

Hope you enjoy the experience

You’ll find it happens a lot with other cars. I’ve done four M3’s (one a CSL) and four Evo’s - my current weekend car. Very nearly bought a Meg 265 recently but the condition wasn’t the best when I viewed so gave up the search for now.

I sold a perfect 265 Cup with mid box chop in August and replaced it with an LCI 130i to release some cash as I now commute 1,200 miles a month. I miss it. The Megane was just so easy to drive quickly and made naughty noises on demand.

I noticed this car is currently up for sale on 7 days performance for 99p per ticket. Might have to buy a few.

I swear there's more "giveway" companies than dealers these days. Just for reference this car was up for sale before this for £10k at a very reputable performance car dealer.

Indeed. I’ve only ever used that dream car giveaways site tbh. I’m guessing these sites (the popular ones who can regularly sell out the competitions) can make a pretty decent profit.

7Days are pretty good tbf, on par with Dream Car Giveaways I think.

I was tempted to buy some myself, but decided against it. I had my fun with it.

Interestingly this is now back up for sale with the original dealer at the original price.

So are these giveaways a scam as I've always suspected them to be or what am I missing here?

Definitely not a scam. However I’m sure they don’t make money on some of the competitions where they don’t sell all the tickets.

What makes you think they are a scam?

The guy who won the car took the cash alternative, and 7Days sold it back to Alex, who pretty much only deals in Meganes. Nothing dodgy.
It does seem to have double the amount of owners in the year and 2 months since I sold it.
