Could always go back to gen 302s (i seem to remember they're cheap enough) with decent pads?

Its got the £2500 Stoptech kit on the front, 4 pots with 332mm and Carbotech XP10, don't think id want to go back to a 302mm setup!
I bought it to have a bit of fun in and do the odd trackday, its a bit hardcore for the road the way its been built, very noisy and hard ride. I've still got the Gul which I will stop modifying and also have a F80 M3 and Mk7 GTI that I daily so not short of motors! The M3 has 400mm Carbon Ceramic

I will start another thread on the Olive green one soon.

Stedman, are you going to the Volvo 600 at Brunters?

Down grading the brakes on this machine would be a backward step, why would you.

302s with good pads are still alright to be fair. But carbotechs on the stoptech is leagues ahead, i'll give you that.

Used to have a manual gul Estate. Was rare back in 2008 and even more so now! Should have kept it. Sold for a bit more than I paid so I was happy but would now pay double that £3500 to own it again!

Nice.
They are definitely getting rare although haven’t gone up in value anything like other cars from that era.

Cheers for the heads up on your thread. Such a cool car, and the yellow with the titan wheels is a brilliant combination.

Had slight issue with the Gul with revs sticking at 2000 rpm sometimes once the engine is up to temp. It’s been doing it from r the last year or so and I found quite a few little air leaks on the inlet side and thought I’d cured it but no. Well as the Olive T-5R is parked up with no steering wheel ( Royal steering wheels ) I thought I’d swap the idle air control valves over. Took the Gul out for a run earlier and it behaved perfectly with the other idle valve fitted! So now looking for another Idle valve. I’ve cleaned the faulty one but made no difference.
Quite handy having two T-5R’s so I can swap bits over for testing.

Ah yes, I think the idle control value went on mine too. Glad it was a simple fix!

Removed the KW V2 Coilovers to fit them to my green T-5R. Fitted Koni and Eibach to the Gul so it rides slightly higher now. Replaced one of the front brake calipers last week as it was dragging, apart from that it’s running great. Done about a thousand miles in it this year. MOT due end of this month and then it’s getting sorn until April.

Mine at Volvo600 last summer, RAF Elvington. Another pic for the garage wall!
