I used XP8’s on an M3 Evo years ago, recommend by Elliot Willis back then.

Quite noisy and dusty but very good on track.

I've been looking to fit a boost gauge - which one did you go for? They seem to either be very cheap or extremely expensive and I'm not familiar enough with most of the brands to know who to trust.

More parts!

Also moved boost gauge from dash top to air vent and fitted new speaker grill.

Heated seats have never worked since I’ve owned the car. Managed to fix both front heated seats today. Traced issue to thermostat wires had broken away on both seats, very common issue.

Spotted you at Oh So Retro. Car looks mint! Congrats for actually using it on such a rainy day smile

Hey thanks. The car lives outside in all weathers unfortunately. Feel bad for leaving the old girl outside but my M3 lives in the garage.

The car is running better than ever now. Working through the list of jobs and the list is getting shorter at last!

Still never seen another Gul on the road since owning it.

Changed the cheap boost gauge for a STACK one, new gauge is smoother in operation and easier to read.
Solid aluminium subframe mounts fitted last month so front end feels a bit tighter now.

One of the rear speakers was blown so I bought some Rockford Fosgate ones and then modded them using the old cage to fit into the original Volvo speaker pods, also renewed the speaker foam behind the grills as it had disintegrated!

Sounds much better now but still looks oem.

PAS pump is groaning a bit so got another one coming this week so will swap them over and flush fluid through to see if it feels better. Other than that it’s running well.

Took her out to blow the cob webs off as it’s just been parked up for a month.

Just love this old car, roll on the summer!

No updates on the Gul but I have bought another T-5R saloon manual in Olive green,
here is the previous owners build thread.

No way - I didn't know Kerry was selling! I would have been tempted myself. Lovely motor.

It’s certainly pretty quick anyway. It needs a few things sorting. Kerry just wasn’t using it and it had only done about 150 miles in 2 years.

Needs paint on front bumper
Oil and filter
Water leak into boot
Stoptech discs need renewing
Requires x4 tyres due to age
Headlining sagging
Remote doesn’t work
Battery drain issue
Front wing poor fit at bottom where arches have been rolled it’s pulled away from side skirt sill cover.
Maybe a few other bits that I’ll find.

Just normal old car stuff really, niggles. Expensive one is the discs at £800.

Ordered new 215/40/17 Yokohama AD08R’s which are being fitted Thursday. Current 5 year old Paradas are causing vibration over 60 mph, I hope it’s the tyres.

I’m going to try and keep in touch with Kerry and Keep him updated on the progress of the car.

It’s certainly a one off T-5R.

Although it’s front wheel drive it reminds me of my Cossie days with all the noise and drama!
My mate who drove it back said it set off a car alarm when driving past, it’s that loud!

hehe

Nothing too major then.

Do they have to be stoptech discs?

No not really. They are 332mm x 32mm. Obviously when buying replacement discs I’m just looking at the rings without the bells. Sumo power uk sell ones that are a direct replacement “Giro disc” at £648 but not sure what they are like.

Fantastic car, these things are so cool and so unusual.
