It's a temp' throttle pedal, or at least the flat bit is as i'm waiting on the new rubber pedal itself, which is floor hinged with a slot and roller bush on the rear.

This isn't from my car but you get the idea...

So the pedal on the left (with the holes in it and really dodgy looking welds) is the clutch!

Unless these have a mirrored pedal layout
Sorry but I just don't get the point you're trying to make? As it says above, that pedal (yes it is just tacked on as it'll be coming off when the new pedal finally arrives and that small plate isn't structural) is the accelerator and all 3 pedals are floor hinged. The first picture is just upsidedown.

I must admit the floor hinged pedal thing was one of the reasons I particularly wanted a LHD car. It reminds me of early Porsche but I appreciate they can be an acquired taste and take a bit of getting used too. smile

The throttle pedal is a bit of a pain, as it has a slot on the rear and a roller on the piece that comes through the floor. The pedal push fits on to a pair of pips on the floor itself and whilst I'm sure they worked fine in 1972 they're way past their best today. I might just fit a Group A pedal like I had in my E30 M3? What I really want it someone who good with fabricating stuff from aluminium. It's only the throttle pedal that's delaying a proper first drive. frown

Managed to snag myself a more shallow boss for the steering wheel today. I have a couple of choices but want to fit one with a larger diameter of around 360mm or thereabouts. I've never been a fan of smaller steering wheels on 02's and they just feel way more nimble and responsive with a larger wheel fitted. It also gives me a good excuse to head over and see how the throttle pedal repair is coming along. smile

Well the steering wheel issue still isn't sorted but hopefully I will have the 02 back home any day now. The throttle pedal needs to go back in and I need to sort the garage floor out, as well as get rid of some of the crud taking up space. It's not exactly huge in there anyway so space is at a premium.

It's a long shot but if anyone has a steering wheel (aftermarket and 15 inch minimum) and a rear cage, please drop me a line.

One of the benefits of buying a left hooker is bits like this can be more likely to crop up...

Unfortunately you've jumped the gun there as I've not bought anything. These pics are from the chap on FaceBook who's having them fabricated in the coming months and the car itself is still in the workshop it's been in for the past 18 months.

Nor I, but unfortunately employment issue and health mean a hard decision. That said, it would have to make a healthy reserve first.
