The only other part of the induction system left was the hot side and cold side boost pipes .

I have changed the boost pipes for some Mishimoto large boar ones .

The Hot side pipe is a one part unit so less chance of boost leeks from the two part OEM unit and is much larger at 2.5 inch

The cold side is again larger at 2.5 inch

Installed

After all of the exhaust and induction install I have then looked to give the valves a quick clean as the car is a direct injection only .

After 20K miles with no catch can etc

Much cleaner

Quite like Fiesta STs and those mods look to be the right way to go, but the first place I would have started for any track car would have been suspension brakes and tyres.

The car will not be going on track until its all done so will not matter in what order they get done and the drive train is all ways the most fun part smile

When I was doing the inlet valve clean got around to fitting the Boomba inlet manifold and throttle body spacers .

Inlet manifold spacer installed with some extra sealant on the ports just to be on the safe side as I will not be running any auxiliary fuel or meth injection .

Throttle body spacer installed

Its a late 2016 and there were no recalls for my one and i think it is just with a build date between 2013 and 2014 and with a vehicle ID number between WF0AXXWPMACS52904 and WF0UXXWPGUEA27692

I can't tell properly from the pic but it looks like you have the old cooling system (the ones thats being replaced by the recalls) . Its a 16 plate so the lower pipes look okay, but its the old expansion tank with the thin plastic pipe comming of the top of the overflow. If you are tracking it I'd have that replaced by the fixed version as the engine will be running hot/under more load. Sudden coolant loss under track conditions would be catastrophic to the engine.

Looking good so far though, did you get it mapped yet? The CP2 map from Collins is not too agressive and works well with the ITG and exhaust mods. Perhaps a stage 2 cooler too for a track car.

You do have a PCM update waiting for you though.

No nothing outstanding or due but it is only the early cars that are effected with the problems of a lower plastic coolant pipe not the rubber ones on later cars and that the rubber coolant pipe can rub and split again on later cars .

This will be for the last service when an ecu update was due but I asked for this not to be done .

The below was the information I read and then rang my ford dealer just to check no work needs doing with regards to the coolant recall

Nice project car. Great starting point.

But as mentioned, on a track car is it not best to start with reducing weight, adding grip, improving brakes, maybe some safety features.

If you cant get into/out of a corner quickly (so maybe a diff too) then adding power isn't really going to help.

Think R26R. Nothing like the pace of a focus RS in a drag race, but miles faster round a track.

Not being critical, think what your doing is great. Would love a fiesta st to turn into a track weapon.

Keep the updates coming.

The final part for the engine / power upgrades was to have a new map put on to the car to run with the hybrid turbo setup .

I have got Devil Developments to live map to the car using Evolution chips software .

I also got the car on the dyno and the car made 305 BHP and 320 LB/FT .

305hp without LSD?

My ST skips about a lot on stadard tyres / standard map, even in the dry, when driven "in a spirited manner" wink
... this map / turbo must shred front boots?

With all of the engine / power bits done i have then looked in to getting the power to the road as the stock car is FWD with just an open diff .

First was to fit a Mountune lower engine torque mount to help with traction and wheel hop .

New vs old

Then i have installed a Quaife ATB LSD along with new bearings , gear oil etc.

Then i have changed the tyres for some more track suitable Yokohama ADO8R .

I have got wider Yokohama ADO8R tyres in 215/40/17 ( the stock size is 205/40/17 )

Suprised it didn't make more power with all those breathing mods + the turbo

was it a conservative map?

change the tyres to michelin ps3's, my 215 grips in the dry extremely well with them
