I have a few more upcoming things to do but another easy job i have got done .

As the car is running much more power and boost the stock spark plugs are ok but not ideal esp if the car is used on track so it is recommended to upgrade to a one step colder plug and gap this to 0.6mm from the stock gap of 0.8mm .

I have been running the NGK LTR7IX that are a grade colder than stock and the car runs fine with them but the cold start and idle is not as smooth as the stock plugs and also has some hesitation from when starting the car .

After talking to some people in the USA i ordered some new Ruthenium HX plugs from NGK as i have been told that on a hybrid / big turbo car they are the best plugs to use and fix the cold start and idle issues .

New Ruthenium HX plugs

The car starts so much better and idles very nice with the new plugs and just seems to be running much sweeter on the new plugs and will perform better at a hi heat range so this will be good for track use .

Bit more information on the below link but think you can only get them from the USA at the moment .

At the weekend i set about removing my Boomba inlet manifold and TB spacers as i will no longer be running them and this gave me a chance to check on the valves ( the car runs direct injection ) to see what they are like after there last clean at 20K miles as the car had done another 6K miles and a few track days .

I have only installed x 2 oil catch cans in the last few months so the valves should not get as dirty on going .

Inlet manifold removed .

Boomba spacers removed .

Inlet manifold with oil vapor that has now had a good clean .

Inlet valves not too bad but still collecting oil crud .

All back clean again after a few hours of cleaning .

Another update to the build .

I have received in my VUDU stage 4 cold air induction kit that is a replacement for the ITG foam filter .

The new kit still uses the ITG MAF housing and pipe work but the foam filter is much larger .

Old ITG filter vs new 48 % bigger VUDU ITG filter .

The location of the old and new filter is sat behind the near side headlight where there is cold free flowing air and the ITG kit has been proven to be the best for the Fiesta ST with power and torque gains and no heat soak .

With the new foam filter being much bigger this will not fit in place with the stock Ford washer bottle so the kit comes with a aluminium washer tank with crinkle black finish that replaces the stock Ford washer bottle .

New washer bottle kit .

Mounting the washer bottle in place .

Mounting the new new filler cap .

Filler hose and extended washer motor wires installed .

Fitting the filter in place .

All pipe work back on with new washer bottle and filter in place .

Head light back in and job done .

The extra size and flow of the new filter should add a few more BHP and will flow even better with my hybrid turbo set up .

Just spent far too long reading this and now wishing I had more money for a lot of these parts for my ST. The one I’m really angling for is that Coolerworx shifter, get fed up of feeling like I have to reach down to grab the shifter especially on track

Thanks for reading the whole lot it does go on a bit as the car has had a fair few bits done to it .

The coolerworx shifter is one of the best things I have done and the gear selection is very short and feels amazing and the shifter is just in the best place when you are driving on track .

It is not cheap and needs a bit of moding to fit but is worth it imho .

Kind regards

Some attention to detail in this build, I absolutely love it. No corners cut and bar the headlight still looks delightfully standard. Have been following this with interest for some time. Well done

Many thanks for the kind words and as you say I want to keep the car looking as stock as possible .

This is my third track car and I wanted to do everything to the best standard on this one and put the best parts on it even tho this does hurt the bank ballance .

I have got some more exciting stuff upcoming for the car and I will update the build thread as soon as I can .

The build looks absolutely amazing and you’ve almost convinced me to build a fiesta st for the track. I’ve been wanting to do it since my friend bought one in 2014.

Many thanks I have put in some time and money in to the car car and appreciate your kind words .

They do make a great track car even in stock form and there is loads of tuning parts for them that can turn them in to a little weapon on track .

Just read that from start to finish. Great build, looks like real weapon on track. I doff my hat to the effort you’ve put into this project. Looking forward to seeing you at a track day sometime.

Yes me too and happy to take you out for a lap if we are at the same track day .

I was booked to do Bedford last Saturday and look to do Spa and the ring again this year but that may be on hold unit we get over the problems .

Time for another update for the car in the form of the front anti roll bar .

On the late plate Fiesta ST Mk 7.5 cars like my one the Fiesta ST 200 suspension was used from the factory to save costs of two production lines so the late plate Fiesta ST got the upgraded ST 200 suspension changes .

The changes were a stiffened rear torsion beam by 27% and a thicker front anti-roll bar (21mm instead of 19mm)

I have all ready install a Summit rear beam brace and DNA racing adjustable rear anti roll bar so there rear of the car is nice and stiff .

With upgrading the rear i have looked in to doing the same at the front so have installed a 25.4 mm Hard race front anti roll bar to level out the changes at the rear .

The install of the front anti roll bar is a bit of a pain as you need to drop all the front wishbones , drop links , steering rack and sub frame to be able to get to the FARB bolts and have the room to get it out .

Front end taken apart and sub frame removed .

OEM FARB location .

Stock 21 mm front anti roll bar .

Hardrace 25.4 mm front anti roll bar .

New larger polly bush and replecment large bracket .

Stock vs new FARB bush .

Stock 21 mm FARB vs new 25.4 mm Hardrace unit .

And all installed .

This should increases the roll stiffness at the front as the back end was a bit lively with the new beam brace and rear adjustable anti roll bar fitted so should balance out the car nicely .
