change the tyres to michelin ps3's, my 215 grips in the dry extremely well with them
Thanks - still 5mm on the originals for the moment after 49,500km, as I (have to) switch to winter boots for 6m / year. smile

305 BHP for this set up is good going as it is running the X47 turbo not the R or V330 .

Ps3 are good for the road but not great on track i have found on other cars and i still think the AD08R is one of the best tyres for track and road use .

Good thread, I recognise your name from STOC.

I have a relatively similar set up to you, minus the upgraded turbo. I really enjoy it at the track and it's kind of in a place where I don't want to tinker further for fear of upsetting the balance it has. The only thing I would look to add is bigger brakes.

The biggest differences for me as both a road car and track car was the addition of adjustable coilover suspension and diff (I went Wavetrac). The coilovers have improved the car on streets by being soft when I want it and hard on track and the diff just absolutely pulls the car around bends, although it is not noticeable on street.

I also run AD08R tyres and have managed to convert some friends to them. They are nice and sticky when hot (only beaten by R888R/AR1's etc...), but suitable for the UK as they have some tread to deal with standing water. I'm a great fan of them.

Question for you, what made you go for the breather mods such as larger crossover pipes and upgraded hot/cold sides? I'm always slightly unsure if there is any tangible benefit, or it's more a high margins product that companies sell.

Have bookmarked the thread in any case!

This is what i'm running:

Mountune intake (Ramair induction pipe)
GFB Diverter Valve +
Collins Performance Stage 2
Mountune small Intercooler
Custom 2.75" catback
KW ST XTA adjustable coilovers
WaveTrac LSD
EBC discs + braided lines
Ferodo DS2500 pads
Team Dynamics Pro 1.2 16"
Summit rear beam brace
Custom brake ducting (instead of foglights)

Yes im on STOC as well mate so may have spoken all ready .

I still have a big parts list that will cover all parts and im looking at BC coilovers and the 330mm 4 pot AP racing front brake setup .

The large cross over and boost pipes are only good if you are running a hybrid / big turbo set up and on a stock turbo setup this will lose you power i have been told .

I was running the CP2 on my car as well and for road use this was a great set up but the difference from CP2 to a stage 3 is massive but for the road i would say the CP2 was better .

Regards

I would say they are much over muchness. I like Collins Performance cp2, but I believe it's a "safer" map compared to Revo or something where they push further.

I'd like to go sports cat too, but not sure how much performance benefit compared on stock turbo map.

If i l were you, I'd go for an upgraded turbo diverter valve like the GFB DV+ instead.

Make sure to install the short shift with loctite. Mine fell apart after about a year of use! Had to source new bolts from Mountune.

I have also installed some suspension upgrades but will be looking to swap then out for some coilovers soon .

First was the install of the Whiteline rear anti roll bar

The rear spring isolators are made of foam and are very squishy and do brake down very quickly so i have installed some Power flex units .

I have then installed the Mountune clubsport suspension

New mountune springs

Rear Bilstein shocks

The rear installed

Front Mountune clubsport kit and old shock

And all installed

Then i have installed some Super pro front drop link

I don't know much about catch cans, but is there any risk that it affects lubrication of the diverter valve? My understanding is that it self lubricates from oil vapour?

Not that I have read and when I serviuce the car I will check the dv just in case .

If you could see all the muck that is on the back of the valves and intake like I have you would be amazed .

I could not recomend them enough esp on direct injection cars .
