Well, that's one hell of a 'full stop' to the thread!

Honestly, I'm just pleased you're okay and able to tell the tale - testament to both Ford and yourself. Amazing how it's always the last session of the day though eh?

Just wanted to say a massive 'thank you' for the thread - I've really enjoyed it and would be an instant subscriber to the next one.
Yeah just one of them things and getting out in one piece I feel lucky as the car can allways be replaced .

Allready looking in to my next project so there will be another one soon and itching to get back on the track .

Holey moley, you don't do anything by halves, do you?

Glad you're not too badly busted up.

Sorry about all the time and effort spent on the car.

Glad to hear you'll be back.

Let's be careful out there!
Yes it did not end how I thought it would but you live and learn smile

saw your post on Trackstormers the other day and was gutted when I saw it had been following this build for a while and it influenced some of the parts I have purchased for my ST180 also.

If you need any standard bits or pieces I have a few bits floating around that I don't need whatsoever you can have if needed.

At the risk of sounding like a vulture (a good intentioned one that is) if you need some parts gone I may also be interested and hope to get you in another track car soon!
Thank you but the car will be going to the big scrapyard in the sky .

Yes I will be stripping the parts off the car when the ribs heal .

Great thread. I enjoyed reading it all and asking you questions.

Fair play for taking the crash (seemingly) well, it must have really hurt physically and in terms of confidence.

I'll be in contact about parts ??
Strange as no confidence was knocked and I would be out on track tomorrow if I could .

I think as I know how I made the mistake it's not something that I will ever do again and will be looking to go back to goodwood ASAP .

Yes parts will be for sale somewhen.

Hell of a shame about the car, though at least you're okay. I'd be in tears if that happened to any of my cars.
It is a shame but the cars can allways be replaced and it gives me a new project to get stuck in to .

Question is; what car's next?
Ahh good question and so many to choose from but so many turbo cars that I have had I'm feeling some N/A might be in order .

Oh dear, gutted for you mate.

Glad you aren't quite as badly broken as the car seems to be, honestly thought you were dealing with a bent rod or something frown Bad enough but not quite like this.

Thanks and yes I woul much rather have had a mechanical issue but the car was running very well and it was a moment of driver error that caused the damage.

Hope you recovery is swift (ribs are 6 weeks apparently according to the last nurse I spoke to). The end of one project opens the door to a new one.
Just over 3 weeks in and they are still hurting like a b* tch but looking forward to a new project to get my teeth stuck in to .

Good attitude that, and hope that you can get back out there as soon as ribs and funds allow. What an arse of an accident, put it in the bin and move on.
Yep good advise there .

Sorry to hear about the accident, wishing you a speedy recovery.

I popped up to Goodwood on the day to watch the track day as I am local. I remember your car was flying round along with a couple of mini's. I've enjoyed reading this build and l look forward to your next project.

My Clio 182 suffered the same fate around Goodwood...
Yes car was going very well and Goodwood must be one of my favourite tracks but it is dam fast and no room for any errors as I have found out .

Ohhh that was a big one!

Firstly: glad you are mostly ok, and wish you well with your ongoing recovery.
Secondly: such a shame, this was a great build with superb attention to detail
Thirdly: I look forward to reading about the next build!

All the best matey
Yes it was a big impact and not one that I would like to do again but this comes with the territory of driving hard on trach so I can accept this .

New build will be next year and already looking folward to it .

So if you're going for something N/A will you go small and light or get something bigger with more power to make up for the lack of a turbo? Or will you MX5 like most people?

I remember that Range Rover L322 thread a few years back where they stripped and tracked it, what a hoot that must've been
Think it will still be FWD and modist power but still thinking about plans .

The fiesta way very fast and a bit of a weapon on track so the replacement will be much slower but I'm in a way looking folward to this .

st, not having a great month are you ?

Just had Covid myself, it wasnt pleasant but coming through it now, was double vaccinated so conspiracy theories aside, logic dictates in my simplistic world that it made it less unpleasant than it could have been.

Get well soon !
Not having a great year TBH .

Yeah not feeling too bad now so the double jabs seem to do there job .
