There's a certain sense of dramatic irony reading this. Good of you to continue the thread given the outcome though.
Yes I'm in this until the bitter end As i have done all the work in the past month thought I would finish where I got up to as it might help some one in the future .

I will just finish off with the last few updates and then will go through the Goodwood track day .
After fixing the fueling issue with changing out the HPFP and other fueling parts i got round to installing a few new parts on the car .
First up was a new cabin filter .
The old one was looking a little dirty .
Next was to change the headlight lamps for some new Philips racing GT 200 units .
Then it was in to installing a Stealthwerx easy read oil dipstick .
The Ford OEM oil dipstick is not that easy to read .

Are they the main beam ones ? Any good ?
Just put some HID's on mine for the dipped beam, naughty I know but the originals are poo and the lights are correctly adjusted.
No they are the dip beam ones and make the God awful lights a touch better .Just put some HID's on mine for the dipped beam, naughty I know but the originals are poo and the lights are correctly adjusted.
After I replaced the HPFP I thought I would also look to change the spark plugs and also change out the boost control solenoid as i had already removed parts to gain access to the HPFP .
First up was a new set of NGK Ruthenium spark plugs ( one grade colder ) that you can still only get imported from the USA it looks like .
Then i installed a new Pierburg boost control solenoid .
Fitting was a bit on the tight side but not too bad to gain access to the boost control solenoid .

Last update for the car .
I received my Race box that can act as a speedo , acceleration timer , braking timer and a lap timer .
The kit also comes with a external GPS antenna and is needed if you have a heated front windscreen .
I also get a new OMP helmet and some new Sparco gloves .
That brings all of the build up to date and next i will do a report on how the track day at Goodwood went .

And finally on to the Goodwood track day to end this build thread .
After the track day at Bedford the car was driving very well until I have a fuelling issue that cut the track day short .
I found the problem to be a faulty HPFP so replaced this with a few other parts and after road testing the car was running well again .
I had booked to do Goodwood alone on the 27/10/21 as its just a 15 minutes from where i live so i could just take one car and a few tools wheels etc .
I got there early and found one of the sheds in the corner and then set about setting the car up to a dry set up .
Then had a look round waiting for booking in .
There were some nice cars that were booked on for the day .
Next was noise testing and then some sighting laps .
Goodwood with Open track do 15 minute sessions so you only have a max of ten cars on circuit at one time .
I set the car up to run low boost again, so the car was running 325 BHP and 273 LB/FT .
I also set up my Race box as I wanted to see what lap times i was getting .
Then it was out for session one .
This was my first time at Goodwood in the dry so i did not push too hard and it was more to get to know the track first .

That was it before lunch so a quick check over of the car found all was good with the car and it was then on to session 5 .
By this point i was really happy with how the car was driving and also myself and was picking up the lines and getting quicker .
I really wanted to see if i could get the car in to the 1.35 minute lap times so set out for session 5 with a mind to push a little harder and brake a little later

I was very happy with the last session and got my 1.35 minute lap time and was going to call it a day but as the weather was still nice i thought i would go out for one last session ( this would prove to not be a good move )
A few photos of the day .
Then it was on to session 6 .
Again the car was driving very well but as this was my last session of the day i was not pushing as hard as before but still going quick enough .
With about 3 minutes to go in the session i came round the Lavent straight through 3rd and in to 4th gear and then was moving over for another car when what i am 99 % sure was the bottom boost hose blowing off distracted me to look at the dash to check for any warning lights and in a sill and costley error took my eyes off the track for a split second but i put two wheels on the grass and that sent the car in to a spin at around 100 + MPH that i could not catch and hit the wall down the Lavent straight .
https://youtu.be/63GqXKLIxyE
This was my first crash on track and a bit of a big one so i got two broken ribs a busted leg and a broken finger to take home with me .
As for the car well lets just say this will not polish out
And with that this will bring this build thread to a close .
I have very much enjoyed building the car and driving it on track and have enjoyed talking to everyone on here about the car .
My future plans are to strip the car ( when the ribs heal up ) of any parts and sell them to help fund a new track car project that i will look in to starting in the new year ( after I explain to the Mrs that wasting a load of money on a car then going back on track is a good plan and not dangerous at all ) .

Well, that's one hell of a 'full stop' to the thread!
Honestly, I'm just pleased you're okay and able to tell the tale - testament to both Ford and yourself. Amazing how it's always the last session of the day though eh?
Just wanted to say a massive 'thank you' for the thread - I've really enjoyed it and would be an instant subscriber to the next one.
