Sorry about the delay in responding.

Yes, I’m still here and the car is still going strong. Unfortunately it has moss growing on it again because of where I park it and I don’t wash it.

I’ll be posting some new videos this week.

Happy new year to everyone!

Any updates on this? YouTube + Thread seem to have gone quiet - hope the car has been good over the x-mas period and someone got a go-pro?

Excellent news

Ignore the moss

Enjoy the car and keep the good news flowing so we can persuade more people to get on the band wagon and enjoy these cars

Get your oil changed asap - I always cringe when people leave oil in longer than a year (a couple of months after a year is OK) but moreso important to change oil on a car that isn't being driven often.

On my Boxster and Cayman I make sure to change the oil every year. For the BMW - its whenever the car tells me its time to change oil, and this car is high mileage at over 208k now.

I can tell any interested parties that the car is still going and looking good. It passed me this morning when I was out cycling. smile

Hi everyone,

It’s been a really long time since I’ve posted an update…mostly because nothing massively interesting has happened. I’m still using the 996 as my every day car and it’s still going great (with all its crustiness). Unfortunately I am no better at keeping it clean as I was back then. Lockdown has meant that I’m not doing a lot of mileage but still using any excuse to go out in it. I’ve had it for 2 years and 4 months and done 6k miles and it’s passed both MOTs that I put it through. Most of those miles were done before lockdown but it frequently gets left for weeks on end these days.

Unfortunately, everyone is going on about the 996 at the moment and prices have gone through the roof and there are hardly any manual coupes available for under 10k.

I’m still doing the odd video on YouTube but most are just me rambling on or talking about my blind bought 1966 Porsche 912.

I hope everyone is all good.

Here’s to the 996 coming down in price so more people can start their 911 journey!! 🤞

As I have a 996 I am happy the prices are rising a little. Every little helps.
