Lets see if we can summon him. Hold hands everyone.

Porchman Porchman Porchman.

There's no place like next door's porch, there's no place like next door's porch, there's no place like next door's porch.

Anyone sense anything?

Please don't. He's mortgage free you know. Not sure if it's been mentioned or not?

Nice looking car. Dunno why it would need a wheel change, as someone mentioned, I think it looks great as is. Well bought ( hopefully! ).
Agreed, those wheels look great and a wheel swap is about the last thing I'd be contemplating for a 6K Porsche!

i would imagine you could easily spend 6k on a set for wheels and tyres for a 911 lol

Great purchase, going to be watching with interest. Will it be your daily driver and subject to the rigours of commuting etc, or used more sparingly? Anything obvious needing attention, other than screwing the reflector back on? wink

I hope that thecrackfox spots this as it has more than a whiff of the Motorpunk about it.

Well done OP. Can't see your post on 911UK (wrong section perhaps) but you will upset a few with paying that for a 996. More like Boxster money.

Should be interesting to see how you get on. How miles are you expecting to cover?

If it survives a year you will have won the buy vs PCP battle that so many seem obsessed with on here. Boring Audi vs classic 911 is a pretty simple decision imo.

Are you handy with spanners? What has the car had done? Service record? Condition? So many questions. Will be following this with interest and will watch your videos later.

I'm not a particular 911 fan, but that is some serious car for the money. Personally I'd be surprised to see any 996 go lower than that, could be wrong though. I'd also be interested to hear about condition, any issues etc. Did you check the MOT history, anything telling?

What a stupid blanket policy. Genuinely interesting thread that's not about Brexit or finance for once, and PH has to neuter it by taking the vid out rolleyes Might as well have deleted the thread for all the sense it makes now.
+1

Utterly juvenile.

Looks lovely - I really like the 996. Fun to drive and I think the design has aged well. Silver also a great color for them

Wish you many happy miles of motoring

The amount of times I have considered doing this. Then I remember owning my cayman and it drinking a litre of oil to 300 miles. Bore scored.

Then I think no thanks.

All the best to you. I hope it goes well and I look forward to following your progress.

Absolutely 100% this. For £1000 less than this (James May - 'good news' if you can't place!) you have a fully fledged pedigree with 300bhp+

I think this has the making of a great thread, please keep the updates coming.

Yes but if your neighbour parked that outside their house, would it be better or worse than them putting up a plastic porch and detracting from your much admired front door?
