Seeing the pics of your interior I was wondering if you’d be interested in a spare pair of headrest covers?! I bought them on eBay a few years ago when they were listed as being for an E28 M5 as I’m desperate for some spare fabric for my car. My car was tucked away under a cover and stupidly I didn’t go and check before buying...the anthracite fabric pattern is similar, but actually quite different when compared side by side.
They’re in great condition with no damage or stains and the vinyl is unmarked. I think I paid £35 for the pair and I am not looking to make a profit - I’m happy to send them to you for inspection and if you’re happy you could sort something out then. Couple of pics:

I love them. They've totally transformed the car but still compliant in a way I wasn't expecting. If i'd had my thinking hat on prior to ordering, i'd have ordered the 'heritage' range of bushes. However, I don't regret the decision to change one bit. Having said that, I'm sure OEM rubber bushes on a 30yr car would be a significant improvement over what was on there. The clear thing is the car is night and day improved, with fresh geometry on top, more direct and awake, but without being in anyway too stiff or nervous as I was worried it could be.

Nearly a year since the last update.
Christmas 2020 I treated myself to some new car parts. The exhaust was annoying me as the original had been replaced at some point and there were no chrome tips to the aftermarked item on the car. Frustratingly one of the few bits that isn't original on the machine.
The car was garaged over winter last year, emerging for a drive through some very snowy and sketchy conditions to get it to BMP conversions in time to take advantage of a delivery of LSDs that were being sent over to an 80+ year old ex-RollsRoyce employee who rebuilds them. Given that I wasn't sure if he was double jabbed and that the pandemic was hitting hard at that time last year, I brought forward my plans to have it rebuilt, given the horrendous noise it was making. Along with this, the exhaust, which didn't seem to be sitting quite right despite my multiple attempts at adjusting it, was going to be tweaked while on a ramp - this ended up being a cut and weld job - frustrating as the item was off the shelf from Scorpion (sounds good without be uncouth). Drive there was pretty interesting, good chance to get to grips with the slow steering lock and low traction conditions. I only needed to use my snow socks once (excellent purchase), when I got a little bogged down while trying to help another stranded car.
The car had various short trips over the summer, running as sweetly as i'd hope, ticking over 47,000 miles and the radio working well. Along with the newly rebuild diff (silent now), a right rear wheel bearing was replaced as that was uncovered once the noise from the diff was sorted. I then had the call that anyone who owns a car they love hopes they might get - wedding car duties. My cousin was getting married in Yorkshire in September and would I allow them to use the car on their big day.
So, we bundled the kids and a load of luggage into the back of it - these e30s have HUGE boots - and off we went up to Yorkshire. Car ran faultlessly. We managed to squeeze in a trip around the National Railway Museum, which was excellent, before washing the car and attaching a few ribbons to it for the big day. The only negative is on the warm run home, wishing the car had aircon, as the trade off between heat and noise (window down) is a tricky one.
The car ran beautifully, the couple and guests loved it and it made an already superb occasion that little bit more special!
Car is now in the long-term keeper catagory. My wife won't let me trade it for the Exige S2 I've always fancied, so its here to stay.

Love it. Sadly missed out, and they are now too expensive for me. In the past I’ve nearly bought an e30 M3, e30 325 and e30 325 touring. In all cases they were (comparatively) cheap as they were still fairly everyday cars, but now out of my league, especially due to kids and an old house.Would love to hear an update.

Tell me about it. When I bought my E30 325i Sport it was because it was only £2500 and I had the cash ready, E30 M3s at the time were only about £8k. I should have got a bloody bank loan.Would love to hear an update.

I think it must be one of the few universally liked shape of cars to have been made.

Totally o/t, but my dad had to turn down an ex GP Bugatti type 32 in the 50’s, as it was the choice between that and a (cheap) starter house.
