What a saga - but I have endless love for the E60 M5.
As a Southport chap, I fully approve of your visit. biggrin

If you visit again, Hickory’s Smokehouse, The Firepit or The Potting Shed are my favourite eats - sorry that you had to endure Spiga laugh
Haha, it wasn't the best tbh. We also went to the Churrasco place on Lord Street which was better.

We decided to go to Hickory's in Rhos on Sea tonight rather than in Southport as it looked like we had less places to eat at in Llandudno than there. We also went to Swan chippy which wasn't bad.

Spiga looked good on trip advisor, but the reality was the opposite. Not to worry!

Back home now. Covered just under 1100 miles in total since the engine was rebuilt. Car hasn't missed a beat.

Lovely car.
My uncle had an m6 and I can still hear the v10 howl!
Don’t think I’d have the balls for one though after reading your troubles!
Just out of curiosity, why are we not allowed to name companies in circumstances like this? Forum rules or potential for litigation?

Sorry to hear your story.

Are you saying parts of the engine were deliberately damaged?

My troubles are quite unique and are unlikely to happen to anyone else. The M5 community on Facebook and M5board are well aware of this company and as such it is unlikely that he can cause any further damage.

The naming and shaming will be to stop potential legal action. It is unjust in many cases, including mine, but c'est le vie.

That is exactly what I am saying.

Plans for this weekend involve giving it a good clean both inside and out, change the interior lighting for an LED kit I bought ages ago and maybe fit the wheel spacers that I bought before the engine had its crisis.

I need to do some coding as well, such as coding out SOS system as it keeps telling me it has failed. I also want to code out comfort access and keyless start.

Glad to see your enjoying the car now. These cars are great fun. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another at all. Don’t really see many on the roads these days either.

That they are. Going down the A55 yesterday heading home there was a guy in an E61 non M5. He clearly loved the sound of my car as I kept getting several thumbs up from him. It is my Civic duty to make people happy with V10 noises hehe

Yes, it definitely is! laugh

Last year I was going to see my Mum and just before her road I have to go under a railway bridge. I always drop the window and nail my Z4 Coupe if there is room, but that time I was following a V10 M5 and the driver nailed it - I couldn't hear my car! rolleyes

So thanks to him and to you. thumbup

Gave the car a clean on Sunday. Spent over 5 hours on it which still wasn't enough.

Cleaned the wheels, gave the seats a clean and then treated with care balm, snow foamed the outside, washed and polished.

Good to see you’ve got this back now and it’s singing and dancing as it should be cool

Sorry I’ve only just caught up with this thread properly.

Small world, we’re down on Anglesey currently. Here all week, Saturday to Saturday, but had to come home yesterday (only Preston) to attend a family funeral, so come back this evening.

The A55s a great road, some great tunnels too wink I saw x2 E60 M5s on the 55 yesterday afternoon as well, genuine M5s as they sounded superb. Got a thumbs up from one of them too for my touring, as we were side by side for a while, due to a shed dragged losing his shed on the roundabout as you get to the tunnels... muppet lol

Hope the car now pays you back in dividends

Cheers Rhys, it's been a lot of pain but hopefully now there will be some gain.

Iirc you had a sunburst red rs1600i? How are you finding M car life?

Nearly. Just a few more things to before I am fully happy.

My condolences, I hope it went as well as these things can.

I was tempted to pop to Anglesey but didn't really have the time. I could spend a week out there and not do everything we wanted to do. Some great views from the top of Great Orme.

I saw one other M5 while there, it was going in the opposite direction to me, heading towards Rhos on Sea. Always good when you find a like minded person on the roads.

Cheers, I hope so too! Enjoy the rest of your week away.

Nothing new to report. Car is booked in for oil service on Wednesday for a 1200 miles change.

Ordering new fuel pumps, filter and associated fittings tomorrow as well.

I have some ideas that I want to do to the car. There are bits of trim I want redoing in alcantara. I want the steering wheel retrimming as well as it is looking a bit worn.

That's hilarious, I was thinking the same. I click, hold my breath, then sigh of relief when everything checks out.
